some power supply adapter heads have loads of copper, tin, and brass.
identify and separate the metals in order to help maximize your profit !
LOL I always just threw them in them in the Burn Barrel with the rest of my Trash.
I Never Tore one Apart that I Remember.

A question for the experts. When cashing in aluminum beer and soda cans at a scrap yard, is it ok to have aluminum food cans mixed in with them? Things like pet food cans tend to have that white plastic lining on the inside, does that make them different from beer and soda cans for scrapping purposes? Also, how about aluminum foil type take-out food containers like the attached pic?
I know all of these can be recycled through my towns recycling program, but for cashing these in as scrap...

Been really kind of busy, not having anytime to do the scrap.
So over the past 8 years I have just thrown it in a pile, and all the detecting iron in barrels.
So it came time to start cleaning this pile up.
An assorted collection in behind the small shed, out of sight=out of mind, but it was starting to flow onto the access lane to the sugar bush lane.
This has been a direct result of a house renovation, barn demolition, an auction, iron detecting finds for a decade

Hello all, i wanted to share with everyone here who may not know this..... Scrap catalytic converters are worth a ton of money. while i dont exactly know what the best cars are to find them on i do know that the prius, certain Fords, and certain Honda catalytic converters are 600 - 1300$+. I purchase several hundred converters per week from our shop in B.C. Canada. We are Ccon Metals. If anybody wants to know more i would happily share all i know and answer any questions ..read more

The other day I was driving through my neighborhood on trash day(I sometimes make good finds)and I thought to myself "man we are such a throw away society" seeing all these toaster ovens vacuums and other items out at the curb,then it dawned on me I dont need the toaster but the power cords have copper in them!So I'm thinking of driving around and cutting the power cords off the junk items if the whole thing isn't worth taking.Do you think this could be worth it??A vacuum has about 10 feet...

I have been researching but not finding much available about removing abandoned telephone lines from the ground. I have been a locator for years, and know where miles of copper lines have been abandoned due to upgrading to fiber optics. A 900 pair of telephone trunk lines weigh about 4 lbs per foot, thats alot of copper left in the ground. Harvesting is the difficult part, but finding specific laws covering ownership is difficult.
