The winniset privateer, Dale spent 13 years racing in the AMA obtaining four championships. In 1988 winning the AMA Battle of the Twins Title and two AMA Endurance Championships.  He Was part of two championship-winning AMA Endurance racing teams (Lockhart Racing in 1987 and Dutchman Racing in 1989 and 1990).
