The London Science Museum is hosting an array of Star Trek and Doctor Who icons as part of a brand new exhibition. It’s all part of a new attraction called Science Fiction: Voyage to the Edge of Imagination which debuts at the London Science Museum on the 6th October 2022 and runs until the 4th May 2023. The exhibition explores how scientists and science fiction writers have inspired each other to imagine and build new worlds to better understand our own. The trailblazing actress, singer and dancer Nichelle Nichols has left us at the age of 89. Nichelle Nichols, who played Nyota Uhura in Star Trek: The Original Series, passed away on 30th July 2022. “I regret to inform you that a great light in the firmament no longer shines for us as it has for so many years,” her son, the actor Kyle Johnson, wrote on Nichelle’s official site. “Last night, my mother, Nichelle Nichols, succumbed to natural causes and passed away. Star Trek: Deep Space Nine is a somewhat overlooked entry in the Star Trek franchise. Launching in the shadow of the hugely popular Star Trek: The Next Generation in 1993, the series tore up the Star Trek rulebook in a number of different ways and was scorned by many fans of its predecessor.
