In this post we wish to convey to our readers and supporters our hope for a blessed Easter and Resurrection Sunday. What a wonder of grace our salvation is, and that wonder is on full display at the cross and empty tomb of Jesus Christ! May we be led again to Calvary to behold the Lamb of God slain for sinners and to the open sepulchre of our Savior to hear His messenger declare, "Fear not ye: for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified. As we celebrate the 506th anniversary of the great Reformation of the sixteenth century on this October 31, Prof. R. Cammenga reminds us of the significance of the solas of this God-centered, Christ-focused, Bible-based, and grace-restored movement. Back in 2017 he penned an article for a special issue of the Standard Bearer that marked the 500th anniversary of the Reformation. The PRC Seminary is once again sponsoring a summer class that is open to the public. Prof. B. Gritters is teaching a six-part course on biblical church discipline. Classes are being held in Hudsonville PRC, Wednesday evenings at 7 p.m., from July 12 through August 16. The first class was held last evening (July 12) and the video link is now available. In this class Prof. Gritters made a special point to show that discipline is not merely the work of the elders but of the whole congregation. Kuiper continues his "centennial history of the Protestant Reformed Theological Seminary" under the title "Committing the Truth to Faithful Men." As the PRC denomination approaches its 100th anniversary (1925-2025), he is researching and writing a detailed account of the origins and workings of the PRC's minister training school throughout its history. Having begun a new year, the year of our Lord Jesus Christ 2023, it is fitting to consider these words from the late Prof. Robert D. Decker, who served the PRTS from 1973-2006 (d. 2021). They are taken from an article he wrote in 1989 for the Standard Bearer based on Psalm 48:14, "For this God is our God for ever and ever: he will be our guide even unto death."
