We’re so excited to share the very first Popaletter, a semi-regular round-up of the latest happenings in our carpool community!
Wowzers! What a travelsome start of the year it has been!
Together, we filled over 80,000 empty seats in cars and had 40,000 members share nearly 15 million km together, creating countless casual collisions and preventing over 2,300 metric tons of CO2.
All the while, we continued growing at an unprecedented rate, helping more and more people get access to safe, convenient, and crowdsourced rides.
This impact and growth is amazing and it’s all thanks to you—our member ..read more

This article was written by Phil, one of many Poparide drivers you can find on the road. You can usually catch him traveling from Quebec to Montreal visiting old friends.
As a driver on Poparide, I know firsthand how important your rating can be. It shows potential passengers that you’re safe, reliable, and courteous. The higher your rating, the more likely you are to fill the seats in your car for carpooling trips. Getting five stars – the highest possible rating – takes some attention to detail and consideration, but it’s achievable.
I joined the app back in 2017 and in that time, I’ve lear ..read more

When I started at Poparide a few years ago, I knew I was onto something that would make a huge difference in people’s lives.
From day one, I was drawn to the company’s vision of a world where we all share resources to help preserve our environment. This vision resonated deeply with my sense of responsibility towards the environment, and I wanted to help make travel more social, affordable and sustainable for everyone.
I was tasked to build a support team of individuals that share the same values and are motivated to work together to crea ..read more
