Old school tea drinker but do like my morning cup of tea & A scone as a treat.
Price of same has gone up plenty over the years but wondering what prices are out there , ive kind of 5 Euro as the norm but i did pay 6 Euro in a M&S cafe lately as well but came across savage value in the Whitefriar Church Cafe on Aungier Street of 3.90 as well , one could always go to Cashel Hotel in Tipperary and pay 25 Euro . Any suggestion for which brand milk to buy for making latte and flat whites?
Obviously taste is most important (sweet, no weird aftertaste) as well as ability to get a nice smooth microfoam.
What do the high quality cafés use?
Thanks ..read more

I'm considering upgarding my espresso game, what do I do...
I've been using a Bambino Plus & Sage Smart Grinder... I like light roast espresso's & cappucinos & in fairness, these machines have been great. I may be slightly outgrowing my set-up, but the next step up is pricey... My cappucinos are fantastic, but my espresso's are not where I want them to be...
The milk frother on the Bambino Plus is exceptional & the warm up time is extrememly convenient. Good milk capabilities would be a priority... I want to stay away from another Sage Machine, as they are all too close to what ..read more

Ive had a C2 for over a year now and this works REALLY well.It also allows better access for cleaning (I found a mound of 'fines' inside mine !)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S_3D7YkQDOc
You will need a fairly small Phillips head screwdriver for the C2 (unlike in the video where two 'picks' rotate around the lock ring)and I used two layers of 'post-it' as the shims ..read more

i currently have the above machine, does a fine job. Only annoying feature is it's a messy clean and needs to be done every time.
Could anyone recommend a basic machine that can be just filled with bag of beans and doesn't need cleaning or refilling of beans every time.
I only drink black coffee so anything like milk frother or wand doesn't matter really ..read more

I see Lyons have changed their packaging and gone back to square tea bags. Must be the first time in about 30 years that they've been square. I remember them changing to round in the 90s before the pyramid bags came in. I wonder why they changed, cost saving maybe ..read more
