Drinking coffee and IBS

Does anyone else have trouble with certain sources of coffee and IBS symptoms? I find that McDonald's coffee, Circle K and Frank and Honest (SuperValu & Centra) trigger problems for me. Bewley's and Insomnia brands are fine. Up until about 2 years ago I used to drink McDonald's and Frank and Honest all the time. Did they change who roasted coffee beans for them? On Saturday morning I ordered a breakfast meal from McD's and ordered a coffee by mistake (first time for a while). I drank it thought I'll take a chance. Today is Wednesday and l'm still suffering ..read more

Hi all, looking to pick your brains! My own coffee habit is nuts now as I’m on a medication that I had to reduce caffeine substantially so I end up cutting 2/3rds decaf with 1/3 normal beans to be able to drink it anymore ?. Its better than nothing! I have a de longhi bean to cup with milk tank which I adore and is used 3-4 times a day for me. However my husband likes consistency and hates that I switch beans up regularly. He doesn’t mind the decaf/caf cross as he’s not supposed to have large amounts either. However the only coffee out he generally likes is Frank and honest cappucino. Does an ..read more

So, I bought another gadget. I really, really like this very simple tool. Grinding from my Rancillio Rocky I found that I struggled to get a level puck. I like this new toy as it's quick and easy and doesn't add a whole faff to the operation like a distribution tool would. I got a Motta 58ml. Any other espresso heads use one ..read more

Hot Frothy (plant) Milk

Hey, I'd like something for frothy hot chocolate, chai and the likes made with plant milk. I'm not sure if this reacts similarly to cow dairy where I've heard the taste deteriorates if heated about 65c? But I'd like it as hot as possible :) When I order drinks like this in cafés, they seem to just do it all with their steam wand on the coffee machine and even if I ask for extra hot, it still tastes good. Is there any standalone steam wand machine that will heat to a high temp and can froth as quick as a professional machine could? I bought a cheap used Swan Retro coffee machine just for this p ..read more
