He was from San Francisco and he died in 1989. I’m about to turn 37 at the end of January. I decided to start Judo next week for the first time in my life. I’m pretty excited about it because this art has fascinated me for a real long time. I found a dojo about 6 miles from my house, it’s ran by a 5th dan who built a beautiful Japanese style dojo in his backyard. The club has about 8 members all adults. I should start another thread, but even though this is old here it will be for my discussion of the so-called “deadly choke hold” by Daniel Penny. After watching the entire unedited ~5 minute video I can see that Penny did not apply Hadaka jime in the traditional sense by either the airway/trachea or vascular arteries/carotid method.
