The ABS and Brake light are on on my dash. They were on from the moment I got the car and put a new battery in it. I just did the rear brakes and did bleed the system. (Driver side outer pad was metal to metal.) The car stops fine with no weird noises (all though spongy, prob could use a new booster.) I did notice the 3rd brake light is out; will this cause those lights to come on? I have a scan tool obd2 I can get the adapter kit for it for $100 but if it's just the 3rd brake light I would rather spend the couple bucks there being that I just had to pay for a funeral and money is tight. Hi,  I have a 95 Cutlass Supreme (red on white) with the 3.4L and only 13,000 original miles (it's a Texas car). The drivers side window has a plastic part that is attached to it - it's almost like a guide for the window to run up and down the pillar. I can't seem to identify what you call it - nor, where I'd even look for one. Unfortunately, this part has a crack down it and I don't know how long it will last before it breaks off. So the digital read out on my Automatic Climate Control does not dim when I turn on my lights and is very bright at night. Also all of my buttons are worn to the point that it's hard to read them when the back light is on at night. I was wondering if there is a set of stickers to put over the buttons to make them look new like I've seen for other models and 2 is the digital read out supposed to dim when the lights come on ..read more

I've broken a rod end on the driver's side hydraulic ram for the convertible top. It broke off cleanly at the end of the shaft, saving the threads, but the "collar" still remains on the rod end. Any good tricks on how to screw this off without really messing stuff up? There's not much room to work...and I'd rather avoid tearing the interior panels off if I can avoid it.   Thanks ..read more

I've had a couple PMs about this topic over this spring and summer. Since most convertible owners are getting the cars out of the garages.   This was a new piece of NOS weather stripping about a year ago. They just don't last. So save your money and don't buy those E-bay NOS convertible weather strips.   Figured I'd show how to fix this problem and give a lot of info on the way. I know this has been done before. I've nearly replaced the passenger window glass.  Quite a journey to find the glass, get the door panel off, and fit it into the track.   The only thing left:  How do I get the powered window "lift wheel" into the track at the bottom of the window?  Picture below.  I reviewed some more posts and now understand I should have inserted the window at 45deg angle, positioned the lift roller in place, and then rotated it level.   Unfortunately, I got the window inserted and level before the lift roller was in place.  Now that the window is level, I cannot ..read more

I'm starting my long-overdue project of replacing the top on my 95 vert.   It's the original top and has seen 215,000 miles, mostly not garaged.   There has been a lot of duct tape involved in the last year . So I know there are multiple threads on here about the inoperable rear quarter windows on these convertibles - clicks - banging with a socket extension - etc.   I have the factory service manual and went through the flow chart step by step and ultimately found that the Master Switch needed to be replaced. Fortunately for me, I've owned this car for almost 20 years and I had bought a new Master Switch back when Oldsmobile was still around.
