It was an eventful last week in the WNBA before players are either headed to the upcoming WNBA All-Star Game taking place this weekend in Phoenix, going on vacation or headed to Paris for the upcoming Summer Olympics to compete for medals for their countries. Or, some players are going to both the All-Star Game as well as competing in the Olympics. Now, that’s tough and deserves respect. It isn’t easy being a WNBA player, but these players try and compete as hard as they can.
Two rookies – Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese are both headed to the All-Star Game as they both were in the top five when ..read more

The fifth and sixth week of the WNBA regular season saw the rise of several teams while other teams suffered major losing streaks and injuries. The contrast between the top teams in the league and the bottom became quite evident in these past two weeks. As it hasn’t been quite clear enough already of how much this rookie class has done in terms of growing interest, we saw the first returns of the All-Star voting and three of the rookies were in the top 30. That is definitely unique and interesting to see a rookie class recieve more votes than league stars.
It is now time to recap the fifth and ..read more

The fourth week of the WNBA regular season was very interesting. The WNBA recorded a record breaking attendance last month for the first time in 26 years and it had it’s most watched season yet across the American networks of ESPN, ION, ABC, ESPN2 and NBATV. On top of all of that, the United States Senior Women’s National Basketball Team released their final Olympic roster and Caitlin Clark was not on that list. But, we all know why. This is because the USA has plenty of talented senior basketball players and when players like Diana Taurasi are still playing in the league, you can’t leave her ..read more

The third week of the WNBA regular season was very interesting as the WNBA was the main talking point among national sports media after Chennedy Carter intentionally fouled Caitlin Clark away from the ball and later refused to talk about to press afterwards. The rookies are now adjusting to the physical nature of the league and how it is a tough and very competitive league to play in.
It is now time to recap the third week of WNBA Rookies Watch. You can read the previous week here.

Two weeks ago, it was reported by CBC that Toronto would be awarded a new WNBA expansion franchise and today, the WNBA made it official. It will be the first team outside the United States. It will be the 14th team and will begin play in the year 2026.
It is truly very exciting. I could not be more thrilled. To be able to have the opportunity to sit in a Canadian arena and to be able to sit and observe and write about the WNBA is awesome. I have been wanting a WNBA team in Toronto since I was an 18 year old girl. I got the opportunity last year to have the first ever WNBA Canada Game last year ..read more
