I understand the vet is the #1 place to go for a budgie's illness. However, if my budgies were to get sick and I needed to give them some time. Is there something that works like how teas help us for budgies ..read more

So I have learned when I got my birds seeds aren't healthy; so I got them coloured pellets instead. Now I learned that those aren't good either and that uncoloured pellets are the way to go. However, many influencers have had their budgies live a long time and make blends on their own, but most those have seeds in them. So I am now just confused. So I am asking what people recommend me to transition to or if I should just stay with what I have ..read more

I saw that a local rescue in my area just obtained a huge group of parakeets that are 3 years old, my budgie is about 5 months old. Would it be safe to get another bird that is older to put with my young one or would that be asking for aggression. Should I wait until mine is older. I'm home all day every day but she just sits around and doesn't play or chirp or come out of her cage on her own; but when I put on a video of other budgies she chirps right up and comes out to 'play' with the...

About a week ago, I was just doing a training practice with my birds. Everything was great until I noticed a red spot on my budgie, Snow's head. I thought it was dust from the colored pellets I give. However, it has been there from a week and has come to 2 other head feathers (they are all separate from each other). So I am curious what they might be ..read more

Hello,
I'm new to the forums here, hoping to find some answers to a few questions for my grandmother, a loving parakeet owner of 6 (3 males, 3 females).
Previously, she had all 6 in one parakeet habitat, but one of the older females has started fighting with the youngest female parakeet (still a baby). The older female parakeet will look at the younger parakeet fly and walk around the cage, and eventually will come down from the highest perch to attack her. She'll sometimes guard the food...

Andy has poop on her butt and a lot of it. It has been going on for at least two days now. Does she have dihareiah? I did see a big pile of poop in the corner of her cage that I'm going to clean out in a bit. I'm worried, this is her first noticeable sickness, I have also noticed she is staying in one spot. when I went to sleep last night, she was eating, when I woke up, she was still there. I am getting really concerned for her. Also, I think she is getting hormonal. Should I tell the vet...
