Unity with Distinction: The Relationship Between the Church and Israel spe Tue, 01/23/2024 - 20:18 When Paul talks about the “one new man” in Ephesians chapter 2, it can be tempting to believe that every Believer is to worship in the same way. In the context of Scripture as a whole, specifically Galatians 3:26–28, we see the idea of “unity with distinction” between Jewish and Gentile Believers emerge. Paul tells the Galatians that “there is neither Jew nor Greek,” which at first glance appears to support a homogenous sameness. However, it’s important not to overlook the very next phrase of ve ..read more

Update on the Building of the Third Temple awaterman Fri, 10/07/2022 - 19:25 Those who believe Scripture contains a literal fulfillment of the biblical covenants for the Jewish people and the Land of Israel recognize rebuilding the Temple is part of this promised future. In Jeremiah’s presentation of the New Covenant for Israel, we read: Behold, days are coming,’ declares the LORD, ‘when I will fulfill the good word which I have spoken concerning the house of Israel and the house of Judah. In those days and at that time I will cause a righteous Branch of David to spring forth; and He shal ..read more

God's Plans and Purposes spe Thu, 06/09/2022 - 00:00 A couple of months ago, as millions of Ukrainians were fleeing their homeland, I got on a plane. Rabbi Jonathan Bernis and I and a few other members of the Jewish Voice team flew to Poland and then walked on foot across the border into Ukraine. We wanted — needed — to see our brothers and sisters there, who have led a Messianic congregation for years and with whom we’ve ministered side by side. We wanted to see them, to pray with them, and to ask them how we could help. It was a long and anxious trip, but I’m grateful we made it. We didn’t ..read more

Deepen Your Roots: Would You Do This? spe Mon, 03/07/2022 - 16:58 There were seventy people – eighty, tops. And they probably didn’t know what hit them because nobody saw it coming. In this Messianic congregation in Rome circa 57 A.D., a Gentile audience listens intently as someone reads a letter. The writer who sent it is a Jewish man from Tarsus, and he’s not telling them what they want to hear. Because what they want to hear is that, since they don’t have to keep the same traditions that Jewish people do to be equal before God, God must love these Gentiles more! But what they hear instead ..read more

The Role of Gentiles in the Church as It Relates to the Jewish People spe Mon, 03/07/2022 - 16:22 Scriptures show us that God set apart the Jewish people. He chose them as the people to whom He would reveal Himself and give His Word. He charged them with obeying and preserving His Word throughout all their generations. The Lord selected the Jewish people to be “a light unto the nations” (the Gentiles), bearing testimony of Him to the world (Isaiah 42:6). It was from Israel that God sent the Messiah for all mankind – to the Jew first (Romans 1:16). That’s quite a role for the Jewish people in ..read more

Jewish Voice Distinctives: Engaging the Church spe Mon, 03/07/2022 - 16:14 If you’ve read the Jewish Voice mission and vision statement, you’ve probably noticed that our mission – how we carry out our vision - has three focal points. Why do we include “engaging the Church” as a vital part of our work? What does it mean and how to we do this branch of our ministry? Here’s some clarification a ..read more

Toward a Covenantal Relationship: The Church and the Jewish people need each other spe Mon, 03/07/2022 - 15:48 It’s been two years now since the world seemed to “shut down” all at once. While COVID-19 is still a daily reality, I have sensed over the past few months a new energy as life slowly grinds closer to “normal.” The same has been true of our ministry work here at Jewish Voice, and I’m so grateful to God for that. Still, we are a global ministry. And when the “globe” closed for travel in 2020, our Executive Team knew we needed to lean in to what the Lord might have to teach us. And He m ..read more

You Asked: What does it mean to “stand with Israel” and “bless Israel”? spe Fri, 11/12/2021 - 19:44 What does it mean to “stand with Israel” and “bless Israel”? We know that the Bible calls us to “bless Israel,” and a common phrase among Believers beckons us to “stand with” Israel and the Jewish people. But what do those phrases actually mean? It might be easier to understand the answer to this question by first identifying what they don’t mean. What Standing with Israel Does NOT Mean Some people misunderstand the idea of “standing with” and “supporting” someone or, in this case, Israel. So, i ..read more
