Eastern Conference 1 Boston Celtics – With the “big 4” there is enough to cover injuries (looking at you KP) and keep racking up the wins. 2 Milwaukee Bucks – Too old to go all out for the #1 seed. Obviously have a great duo but a lost rests on what they can get out of Middleton. 3 Cleveland Cavaliers – Should be pissed off losing in the first round last season and want to go at least one step further. 4 New York Knicks – Feels too high, but I can’t put them below the next two teams. Are we getting Jekyll or Hyde out of Julius Randle? 5 Philadelphia 76ers – You know the drill. Embiid playing w ..read more

Eastern Conference 1 Philadelphia 76ers – The regular season means more to this team than the other contenders in the East. Embiid wants an MVP, and Harden knows this is his time to shine before the inevitable playoff flop. So they’ll get the 1 seed. 2 Milwaukee Bucks – Will just keep consistently winning as long as Giannis is on the team. 3 Toronto Raptors – Someone has to jump up a bit in the standings, and why not the Raptors? They are bringing back essentially the same roster, who when healthy were one of the best teams in the league last season. 4 Brooklyn Nets – More question marks than ..read more

With only one genuine upset, somehow all of us did worse than tossing a coin. David Ashman, Dan Kelly, Jesse Cotton: 4 Troy Goostrey, Jarrod Cotton: 2 Oh well, now on to the big boy games. Western Conference 1 Utah Jazz v 8 Memphis Grizzlies David Ashman: Gotta love the Griz young guys having a go. I think the Jazz will just have too many options to outlast them in a playoff series. Ja will go large but still it won’t be enough to stop The Stifle Tower and Spida of the Jazz. Jazz in 6 Dan Kelly: Having looked at their line-up minus Mitchell, I am surprised they managed to hang onto the nu ..read more

Kyrie: Hey KD, Boston’s going nowhere. It’ll be ages before the Celtics make the Finals again. I’m thinking about leaving, how would you feel about teaming up? KD: Good to hear from you Kyrie. I feel like the Warriors are on the way down too. They’ve had their time, and it’s time I left before things get really bad. Let’s do it. We’ll be unstoppable.  Hopefully KD’s burner account doesn’t come after me now. We all had Celtics in 6 last round, which is really what should have happened. Troy getting Warriors in 5 on the money though, so he takes home the chocolates this round. Absolutely ma ..read more

So, James, another disappointing playoff exit for you. Tell me, how much partying are you going to do this offseason? What size will you be for the start of training camp? Good work Jarrod! So close to getting a complete sweep, picking Heat in 6, Celtics in 7, Warriors in 6 and…Suns in 7. Ayton, not surprisingly, let you down in a big game. On to the next round. If only this counted towards fantasy scores. Luka, Tatum and Steph all still in it. Eastern Conference 1 Miami Heat v 2 Boston Celtics Troy Goostrey: Well the two favourites navigated the tough East and made it to the Conference F ..read more

76ers: Ben Simmons? You didn’t drag poor Ben Simmons along did you? He’s not up to the challenge. Celtics: He sticks out like a sore thumb. We’ll find him. Nets: The hell you will. He’s got a two day head start on you, which is more than he needs. Ben’s got friends in every town and village from here to the Sudan, he speaks a dozen languages, knows every local custom, he’ll blend in, disappear, you’ll never see him again. With any luck, he’s got the Larry O’Brien already. Ben Simmons: With no upsets in the first round, we all got them all right, except for Dallas-Utah, where Jarrod was the onl ..read more

Eastern Conference 1 Miami Heat v 8 Atlanta Hawks Troy Goostrey: The worst option Miami could have expected as the 8 seed given the Hawks we’re a conference finalist last season.  However Miami are a #1 seed for a reason and their depth, experience and ability to exploit Young on defence will win out. Heat in 5 David Ashman: As much as Atlanta have that run and gun team, Miami has the defence to shut down the Hawks. Trae will get his shots but he can’t do it all. Unless Gallinaaaaari has a blinder from behind the arc, expect Jimmy and Bam to lock down the Hawks and get the win ..read more

Eastern Conference 7 Brooklyn Nets v 8 Cleveland Cavaliers David Ashman: The Cavs are the surprise team in the East, would not have thought they would be in this position. Cavs have some great young talent with Mobley being possibly the best rookie this year. Nets have the talent and the sooks. With sooks come dramas, maybe they might not gel come play-off crunch time. Unfortunately, the Nets will win with their stars firing. Nets win Jarrod Cotton: Cleveland have nothing to lose where as Brooklyn has everything to lose in this one. The class and experience of KD wins the day against this ..read more

Well it’s that time of year again. Another NBA season is upon us and I feel about as ready for it as Ben Simmons. But let’s put on our best Nostradamus hats and predict this thing anyway. Eastern Conference Standings Jarrod Cotton: 1 Milwaukee Bucks 2 Brooklyn Nets 3 Atlanta Hawks 4 Miami Heat 5 Boston Celtics 6 Indiana Pacers 7 Philadelphia 76ers 8 Chicago Bulls 9 Charlotte Hornets 10 New York Knicks 11 Toronto Raptors 12 Cleveland Cavaliers 13 Detroit Pistons 14 Washington Wizards 15 Orlando Magic Troy Goostrey: 1 Brooklyn Nets – Even without Kyrie, they look like #1 seed 2 Milwaukee Bucks ..read more
