Hey there, I just discovered this wonderful site. I found a similar thread regarding a khaki cock paired to a brown hen, but I was curious of the opposite pairing. Both birds are spread, and the cock possibly carries dilute himself. Their first clutch hatched today, both were long-downed at hatch so I’m assuming they’ll be browns. What does it mean when my dove does a sort of purring noise while shaking slightly, almost like he is shivering? I thought he might be cold, but his feathers were not ruffled up at all. About a month and a half ago we rescued a one eyed collared dove. He grew accustomed to us and seems content with his new life at home. He has his favourite spots at home and gets plenty of time out of his cage. At night we put him back in there and he goes to the perch to sleep. Hi, im in the UK and 6 days ago i rescued a fledgling collared dove whos parents had left it, i waited a few hours and brought it inside as we have many predators around here. I've had my female diamond dove for over a year now. Within the past few months I've noticed that she is constantly cooing - almost to the point where it's an alarm clock that cannot be turned off. It used to be quiet and seldom at first, but now she can coo for an hour straight. She'll stop for maybe 5 minutes and start up again. Ok so I’ve had this pair of lovebirds outside my balcony every single day and they have nested under my balcony chair (with a waterproof cover) for a two months and had two babies (now around 2weeks old). They started to grow feathers and they habitually like to sit outside of the nest when mum/dad is not here. Hi, I am looking for guidance for a pigeon fledgling I found in my parking lot. It was limping and its crop seemed empty. But it was bright and alert. According to the vet, it has a broken leg. Since the pigeon did not exhibit any signs of pain when handling the leg, the vet estimated that it was an old injury and was not sure if it would heal. For now, he has put a splint on.
