Isaiah 55: 6-13 6. Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near: 7. Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon. 8. For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD. 9. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts. 10. For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not ..read more

Psalm 51:1-12 (To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David, when Nathan the prophet came unto him, after he had gone in to Bathsheba.) Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy lovingkindness: according unto the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions. 2. Wash me thoroughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin. 3. For I acknowledge my transgressions: and my sin is ever before me. 4. Against thee, thee only, have I sinned, and done this evil in thy sight: that thou mightiest be justified when thou speakest, and be clear when thou judges ..read more

2 Corinthians 5:17-21 17. Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. 18. And all things are of God, who hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation. 19. To wit, that God was in Christ reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation. 20. Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God. 21. For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that w ..read more

Paul, in 1 Corinthians 1:2 says, “Unto the Church of God which is at Corinth, to them that are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints, with all that in every place call upon the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, both theirs and ours: Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ.” He calls the believers at Corinth “saints.” Are you a “saint?”  What makes someone a “saint?” That title has been given to many individuals by the Roman Catholic church. I think of my grandmothers as saints, both of them. They were very patient with their grandchildren ..read more

As we start this new year of 2022, I’m thinking about the impact of the fall of man in the Garden of Eden. We see in Scripture that the earth was cursed because of Adam and Eve’s disobedience and rejection of God. The words of the Serpent were shown to be lies. The Serpent promised, “Ye shall not surely die.” He was believed and God was rejected. Since then, we have all lived under the curse of sin, which is death. Each man and woman have suffered physical death. Putting God in the picture of the reality of Death has huge implications on our worldview.   We all must face that reality ..read more
