Hi everyone,
I did a little research and looked into getting a loan as a foreigner in the PH. There is sparse to no information, but I found that one of the banks that may assist in this matter is BDO.
Does anyone have more info/experience in this matter or can suggest a bank that might be open to loan money to a foreigner?
My bank (Security Bank) put a strict no to this question, which I understand. I am not a fan of debt, however, I would like to purchase something that requires a bit...

I'm hoping someone has gone through or done ceiling fan installation in a dropped ceiling home. I currently have a light fixtures in the center of each bedroom. I'd like to remove the light and replace them with lighted ceiling fans and utilizing the existing wiring. Disclaimer. I've haven't looked above the dropped ceiling to see how the ceiling is supported, so a bit of speculation. The light fixtures are secured directly to the hardiflex. I suspect that the fans are too heavy and...

We tried the new 1988 restaurant that opened last week, it's on the boulevard where Don Atlantano and JLH deli used to be.
Nice place and reasonable prices but i was surprised to see they use tuna done in batter for the fish and chips, that's a first for me.
One word of warning is that if you want to talk or more importantly listen to whoever you go there with then don't sit too close to the piano, very LOUD ..read more

Apparently a power pole in Banilad caught on fire and caused a big mess. In Bacong I thankfully didn't lose power but lost Fil Products TV and internet last night and today. Drove by this morning and saw lines down in 3 areas and Sky and Fil Products and Noreco trucks and workers addressing the problems. Looks like it could take a while to normalize ..read more

With the number and frequency of brownouts on Siquijor, I need to find a portable gasoline, home generator to use when the power goes out. I hope to find a suitable one for my small cottage. I have 9 lights, refrigerator, floor fan and a laptop. There are so many to choose from that I do not have the knowledge to figure out the size or capacity, preferably a quiet generator that can be run outside under the eve of my roof. Are there models that one that automatically turn on when the...

My son and friends went to the Port Royale Water Park earlier this week. My son, and a classmate, got what the internet website described as symptoms of a chlorine rash covering a good part of his body, the other kids did not get a rash. It itches and has little bumps that turned to blisters. I applied a hydrocortisone cream as suggested by the website. That caused the blisters to hurt. I am hoping it goes away soon ..read more
