Whose running a standalone?
Turbo Mopar Forums

If so, which one? I'm now on a an AEM EMS-4 system with a 60-2 CKP wheel, no CMP sensor. It's old as far as standalones are concerned, but still miles ahead of a SMEC/SBEC IMHO. My TIII SBEC lost an injector driver and for what it would cost to repair it, I could buy a cheap/used standalone and gain more options and processing power. Eventually I'll upgrade it too. Curious what others have chosen, and why ..read more

Anybody in the Daytona Beach area that might be willing to pickup a set of miata wheel/tires from Flis Performance for me? They won't ship to me directly but if any turbo-mopar Good Samaritans down there might be willing to pickup the set I could arrange package pickup and shipping from your location and throw in some $$ to make it worth their while. Let me know, thanks. (here or superdaver@live.com ..read more

Throw Out Bearnigns
Turbo Mopar Forums

I replaced the TOB in the minivan yesterday and it sounded nice and quiet on startup. However, after a drive around town, it's rattling about just like the old one. I can understand that the old one was rattling, as it broke and I tried to safety wire it in place on the fork. That worked for a time, but eventually the wire gave way and the rattling began anew. This is the first time I've had this problem, but it's also one of only two throw out bearings I've used with the wire which sits under the smallest of lips to keep it in place. I'm 99% sure the bearing didn't come off the fork or anyth ..read more

MPTune and Ostrich - Boost cut-out around 11+ psi?
Turbo Mopar Forums

I thought I had an issue with something mechanical, but it turned out the cal was corrupt. Found the table that needed an update from n to 1 and now the car drives good, for the most part. When in full throttle above 10psi (it seems), the car acts like it has boost cutout like on a stock cal when it goes over the limit. Car dies for a sec, then it's back, then over the boost limit it dies, then it's back, etc. Wondering if the overboost setting is the reason? I don't remember having this issue before, but I also have not burned a cal for the car in YEARS and I pulled down all new files as of ..read more

Changing valve seals on my Charger
Turbo Mopar Forums

My experience of changing engine valve seals on a 2.2/2.5 eight valve in the engine compartment of an 1985 Charger turbo. I had never done this before and was definitely apprehensive of the pitfalls that could be involved. Fortunately I had built an engine run stand and was able to practice changing seals on an engine where I could easily see and get at everything involved. The purpose of this article is to pass on the things I learned so that someone who is thinking about doing this can prepare for possible problems. TOOLS I used two valve spring compressing tools. 1989 Spirit HVAC Blower Not Working
Turbo Mopar Forums

Hi y'all, I have a 1989 Dodge Spirit. The blower fan for the heat/ac isn't working. Power is not getting to the fuse panel on #9 (HTR-AC), #10 (P-WDO), or #11 (back up lamps). I peeked behind the fuse panel - all three of those fuses are powered by the same wire (Black with orange? stripe). I used a jumper wire to power #9. Blower can back to life! Does anyone know where that Black/Orange wire gets power from? Maybe a fusible link in the engine bay I don't know about? I'm hoping I don't have to take the steering column apart to check the ignition switch :yuck: I believe is a Saginaw column ..read more
