You can remove the valves and solder up the holes, it reduces the restriction of air flow through the throttle body and if the throttle body was the limiting factor, it could gain you a tiny tiny power increase. Correct if wrong but I think the valves were fitted originally as an emissions thing? Statistics: Posted by Miles — Tue Apr 30, 2024 12:59 pm ..read more

Thanks everyone. It took months to build but it's been well worth it for the amount of smiles (and confused looks!) it gets I'll be doing lots more videos soon and I'll be including my friend's real Delorean in them. Maybe a race across / around a lake, etc. Statistics: Posted by PEDelorean — Fri Apr 19, 2024 2:03 pm ..read more

After an initial attempt at set up of the passenger door latch, I was back in, this time to sort some locking issues. The (early) door locks are pretty tired, but I will leave alone for now as long as they are working. After this --> viewtopic.php?f=22&t=6595 the doors close quite nicely And very satisfying was elimination of a long-standing rattle inside the passenger door, I am not sure what it was, but I wrapped a lot of things in foam / cloth/ cable ties and its definitely better. It does just make you more alert out hitherto un-noticed squeaks tho...! And for my own reference ..read more

HELP: 2 - Emission / Fuel Systems • Re: Orange crystal chunks in fuel tank

The ethanol would be the prime suspect. The orange lumps look like water condensation reacting with the air and leaving iron deposits. Ethanol attracts moisture especially when sitting. With the ethanol content, starting and running it weekly/daily would not suffice in my opinion, driving and replacing the fuel regularly would be preferable. Otherwise if storing it for any length of time use an ethanol fuel stabilizer like sta-bil in the tank to protect it from any damage for up to a year. Ethanol fuels can start to break down after month or 2 of sitting. We have e10 In ireland here for a go ..read more

I replaced all the tank parts 5 years ago. It then was started about monthly for 2 years. Since then weekly / daily. Im amazed at the amount of crap in there. When i broke the chunks up there was nothing inside, just big clumps of, i dont know. Ive not emptied the tank yet either, it could be way worse. This stuff is probably blocking the whole system. Fuel recommendations please. The tanks sealed airtight. Statistics: Posted by Andy_ — Mon Apr 01, 2024 9:31 pm ..read more

I dont know what that is or what caused it. Maybe moisture, maybe fuel thats sat for too long, bad fuel??? Ive had to replace a few wires and the fuel sender a few months back and i didnt have any signs of crystallisation. There appears to be some gunk on the pickup hose and clip which i assume is the crystal gunk? Is that a rubber line? If so, it could be the ethanol thats eating and reacting to it. I use only E5 in my car and avoid E10. Ive had to use E10 on 2 occasions and that was during the whole fuel shortages fiasco. How often do you use the car? How long has it sat for? IMG_2835.jpeg IMG_2833.jpeg What is this stuff in my fuel tank? Is this because of ethanol? I cleaned out the tank a few years ago, replaced everything. Some of the chunks are huge. If this is because of bad fuel, what are you uk guys using now? I cant get non ethanol around here, its all e5 now. Ive seen aspen fuel/ classic non ethanol fuel in 10L /200L barrels. Cant find a price online. Or should i be using an additive? Statistics: Posted by Andy_ — Mon Apr 01, 2024 2:35 pm ..read more
