For the past seven years, I've been dealing with intense lower abdominal pain during ovulation. Initially, it was mild and occurred once a month, but now it persists for about two weeks. The pain lasts for 20-30 minutes several times a day, and despite using ibuprofen, the first 10 minutes are unbearable, disrupting my ability to work or sleep. This has left me disabled for two weeks each month. Despite consulting multiple doctors, they claim I'm healthy, leaving me frustrated as the pain persists. Birth control is not an option due to its impact on my libido. While ibuprofen helps after 30 m ..read more

I've spoken to my OB about this but I want to see what you've been told from your OBs/REs. I have hashimotos (underactive thyroid) and I've been on meds for over 10 years. Prior to having my 14m old my levels were stable for many years and I did not need any med adjustments. I did not need any adjustments during pregnancy either. After birth though my thyroid went absolutely crazy and went extremely overactive. Now I'm back to underactive and back on my levothyroxine. I was on 100mcg but my tsh was over 3 and I know for pregnancy they want you under 2.5 for the first trimester so I asked my p ..read more

Cannot afford IVF at our fertility clinic. Experiences with CNY? Stipends and grants? Employers that offer IVF coverage?

My husband (48) and I (41) have undergone fertility treatment through Kaiser Permanente (three medicated IUIs). I was recently diagnosed with adenomyosis but, according to the doctors, the main reason for not being able to conceive is our age. All our tests have been “above average” but age remains an obstacle, of course — as is the adenomyosis (I suspect I may also have endometriosis). We have now been advised to do IVF with Lupron. The cost at Kaiser for one cycle is more than $30,000 — since our insurance does not cover IVF. We cannot afford this and will need to look into alternatives, in ..read more

Has myo-inositol worked for an-ovulation?

I started taking Myo-inositol a little over one month ago, on cycle day 22 (6g scoop in water 2x daily). I also take CoQ10, Folic acid and NAC, though I started those six months ago. I don’t have PCOS but I do have recurring cysts. Some months are worse than others, and it feels like this past month they have been less painful. My periods are regular, anywhere for 26-31 days, and I’m 35. I started tracking my ovulation with OPKs 3 months ago 2x a day and using an app which I’ve logged my periods in for four years for reference. I check from day 11-18. I have noticed only a moderate or faint o ..read more

I haven't been on Reddit in quite a while because of some major stuff that happened. In fact, I've been trying to evade the Internet in general, not just social media but anything informational as well such as medical information sites or news headlines because the news always seems to divert me to articles about healthcare technology breakthroughs. I wrote before about really, really, really wanting a baby. When it seemed like things were stagnant and dull in my life, when I wasn't getting much of any support from friends or family, when I thought maybe my day to have a baby would never come ..read more

so i’m (22F) a runner and have been most of my life, but i’ve spent years recovering from an eating disorder that at one point made me lose my period for about a year and a half. since then it has been irregular, then it started to regulate this past summer. i had hope but then lost it again for about 4 months, then just got it back last week. i run 12 miles a day every day with no rest, which i know is probably too much. but i hadn’t cut down my running in order to get my period back, i think it was just because i was eating a bit more. but now that my husband and i have hope of trying for a ..read more

So my husband and I have been trying to conceive for more than a year. This is our first time doing the IUI timed intercourse cycle. I did the whole letrozole and ovidrel thing. 9days after taking ovidrel I took a pregnancy test and it came back positive. I was elated!! My husband and I were so happy! We both cried tears of joy. To be sure I took another test and got a faint line the next day. I was starting to get paranoid. I called a friend and she said faint positive is still positive. Sometimes hcg levels fluctuate and asked me to wait 2 days. So I waited 2 more days and took the test aga ..read more

Off the top: I scheduled a doctors appointment for the first week in January. So a little about me: I’m turning 31 in 10 days and my husband and I have been TTC since March. Not a whole year I know. I have noticed that my cycle is starting to get longer. My typical cycle length is between 26 and 32 days but Ive noticed my cycle getting longer each month. This cycle my period was a week late. I googled it because I’m a glutton for punishment and found out this is symptomatic of perimenopause. I’ve read all kinds of literature about women who conceive well into their 30s but does anyone have ex ..read more

Women out there who are struggling to concieve - have you got your ANA levels checked?

Through a deep dive online I found that women with autoimmune disorders are much less likely to get pregnant or carry a pregnancy full term. You can take a test that measures your LH and FSH which will give you an estimate of your ovarian reserve. Low numbers for your age could indicate a possible autoimmune cause. Testing for ANA (antinuclear antibody) can be an indicator of a possible autoimmune condition. Symptoms include joint pain or swelling, fatigue, rashes, allergy like symptoms, recurrent illnesses, etc. This brings me to my next point which is that women who get breast implants are ..read more

Low AMH and inositol questions

Hello all, I went to see a fertility naturopath before TTC in Jan and she put me on a preconception supplement for female fertility and egg quality. I took it from Jan-Feb and then again from Jun-Nov. in November I found out my AMH is extremely low for my age (31) at 0.67ng. I recently learned hat myo-inositol is often recommended to PCOS patients as studies have shown it can reduce AMH levels. I am so worried that the supplement I was taking daily to improve egg quality (had 250mg myo-inositol) has had a detrimental effect on my AMH and ovarian reserve. Has anyone with low AMH had this happe ..read more
