2009 sfv Gladius
My upper right fork has a small dent and my left fork is leaking a little oil. Shop owner/mechanic yesterday has asked me to buy new forks if I can get them inexpensively. He doesn't think the original forks will be a problem but would prefer to change these out.

Hello!
I recently bought this 2000 SV650s. It has been running great so far. Yesterday, however, I was in the middle of an errand and the bike started loosing power. After a few revs trying to revive her, she shut down never to start again (that day). Since I had only done 220km on that thank (usually I can do ~250km) and the fuel light hadn't appeared, I thought it was some bad fuel problem from the previous owner who didn't ride it enough. I assumed it was something clogged in the fuel...

Hi all,
Needed help with replacing the dashboard glass on my SV650X 2021 model.
Someone broke my dashboard glass and I want to replace it. However, it looks like it's welded to the black plastic. Should I get a new tachometer set, or is there a way to replace just the glass?
Thanks for your help in advance ..read more

Hey everyone,
Following up on my search for the perfect motorcycle jacket, I realized there's so much more to consider when it comes to safety gear. While a good jacket is crucial, I'm curious to hear from experienced riders: what other safety equipment do you find essential for your rides?
Specifically, I'm interested in learning more about:
Helmets: Full-face vs. half helmets, favorite brands for comfort and safety.
Boots: Any recommendations for boots...

Got a 2020 SV650 I’ve never ridden, it has 5000 miles. (never ridden a motorcycle besides in my 2 day class to get my endorsement)
I have an appointment at a Suzuki dealership in about a month to go through it/fluids/etc and I’m borrowing a friends truck and renting a trailer to take it to the closest shop 1 hour and 30 mins away.
The reason I’m asking about this is recently I came across a YT vid where a guy is showing how to change the oil. In one of the comments, a person stated...

I've been going through the manual and still cant seem to get the bike to start
Things I've done:
New Rectifier/stator
New Signal Generator
ICU/Igniter- working in a known working bike
ignition coils- done primary tests on (Attempted Secondary but couldn't get a reading, more than likely user error) primary tests good
The Bike does attempt to start/ turnover.
I Have checked/ bypassed
clutch - bypassed
kickstand - bypassed
neutral - working as described in manual
The Bike had spark when...

Today we are replacing an iffy battery that I think is under powering the ignition on a 01 650S.
This bike has 3700 maintained miles on it. Not 37K.
I can't swear it had valves adj- why would it have with light adult miles inspected, new tires, no mods other than a slip on?
Yet.
If it kicks back or runs bad (flat batt)
the valve train sounds noisy with full new oil.
My 2024 DR makes a symphony of noises with 1k miles.
If it's normal Im good.
If there is a common known issue I want...

One of our Gen 1 650S bikes needed a tender and was batt run down over winter when started 2x/mo.
It ran great in the fall for 100s of miles.
Suddenly, it's as if there's a blanket over the carb with sporadic bursts where it runs sharp. Then it's muted and has to keep the RPMs up or die.
New OEM batt came today not installed yet.
My 70s UJMs felt just like this bump starting on flat batteries because I like my high beam. (CB twins and 4s, etc)
Common for Gen1, or should I be...

Or old guy on a little bike?
Just bought a pair of 2001 super low mile SV 650S.
Adding to our stable of TS185s, DR650, GSF1200S, and HDs.
50 years on a bike 42 of them with a liscence.
Have some SV specific questions, really nice bikes. Mild in town, a spicy meatball when you are feeling that.
