What I have is a Chinese generator with a 186FA 418 diesel engine. When I first got it the generator head was inop and I replaced it but doing so i had to install a different crankshaft to match the replacement gen assy I mated to it. For a while it ran great, awesome even then it started to sound more labored and started producing white smoke. I removed the gen assy from the engine and it still produces gobs of white smoke. I have a large Berkeley irrigation pump (6" inlet 4" outlet) connected to a 6 cyl Perkins diesel pump. It has operated flawlessly for several years until yesterday when it was hardly putting out any water. I went down to see what was going on and found that the impeller housing and the rest of the pump including the inlet hose where it connected to the impeller was EXTREMELY hot. Too hot to touch. Hello to the group, I am trying to solve the problem of a Stihl BR 500/ 550/600 series blower that dies after a short running time. I have rebuilt the carburetter, cleaned the fuel filter, checked the fuel lines for blockage / kinks etc, I checked and reset the valve tappet clearances to .004"..
