Briggs & Stratton Lawn Mower Issue!

Hey Studs, Got this ancient Briggs & Stratton, been a faithful mower for some years. My shop did a fresh tune-up last season and she ran like a champ. I put fresh ethanol-free 90 fuel in it today, primed it a few times and it will crank and run for about 4-5 seconds and die out! It does this on about every 3-4th pull...it sounds healthy for a few seconds and then it just dies off...will not stay running! Any ideas, other than taking it to the shop? Thanks, Reg ..read more

Kohler KT725 on Scag Liberty Z won't try to start using the key. I can start it by turning the key and jumping across the solenoid but nothing with using the key. I checked all safety switches and they are good. What could be the problem? Bad solenoid, ignition switch, etc.? Thanks ..read more

Le Roi Tractor...

Has anyone ever heard of Leroi tractors?? I believe I have found what they called a Leroi Centuar but I'm not sure. I know little to nothing about antique tractors or any tractor for that matter. I have been doing some work remodeling an old farm house and the home owner said she would sell me the old "homemade saw mill" and everything around it for $500. Thinking I'm going to go start loading it up this weekend. Just not sure if there is any demand for the old tractor. I've never heard of... Read more ..read more

I snagged this steel deck Greenworks mower off Marketplace a couple months ago for $75. without battery or charger. It was used very little as demo model and is still like new. I jumped on it as I have two of their 40 volt chainsaws and two batteries already along with the quick charger. I bought a new 18 volt Ryobi 13" mower four years ago and it has worked quite well for the little bit of push mowing I do. My only complaint with the Ryobi is it starts to run low just before I finish. This... Read more ..read more

It's not officially spring yet, but close enough for me. The sun is shining and the ground is finally dry enough to start mowing. Yesterday I got my 1990 Murray 12hp/38 riding mower out, checked the oil and filled up the gas. Turned the key and she came to life no problem and so I mowed the back yard and sides of the house with it. After that, I woke up the Echo GT-200R and trimmed the same areas. Finished up by cleaning everything off with the Echo PB-250. It's just an ordinary task that I... Read more ..read more

Hey folks. I have a John Deere Sabre 42inch riding mower with a 15.5hp Briggs and Stratton single cylinder that needs a new carb. I spent a half hour on the internet, but no luck finding an exact replacement. It’s a Walbro/Briggs and Stratton 498888. If anyone could help me in this hunt, I’d appreciate it ..read more

I got this from a buddy that had it on his splitter and he asked me to see if I can fix it so he'd have a spare . He said it wouldn't start and oils pouring out of the exhaust/muffler . I did a quick compression test and I'm only getting 50psi which from the little ive read is way to low . I'm thinking at the least maybe a bad ring ? Any other ideas what it could be and how to check it out quick without completely tearing it apart ? Thanks Ernie ..read more
