I checked my Pentax Q-S1 recently and found it would not work. It will not turn on at all. I tried recharging the battery, and I have tested it and confirmed that it charged, so whatever is going wrong seems to be inside the camera body. There is probably a rechargeable battery built into the camera (probably a Ni-Cad) that has gone dead. I think this is repairable, but that would take time and money I cannot afford right now. Somehow I've managed to turn the wrong thing and now have This $*&%# thing stuck in P-TTL W (wireless). The manual gives limited instructions on how to set it to wireless but nothing about turning it off. Anyone have a similar flash ..read more

Sorry for such a technical thread title.......I am looking at adding a couple of lenses. I rarely shoot at 2.8 so that will not be a factor in my choice of lenses. I have a Pentax film camera the ZX7 and I have the ist* and two of the K20D and I can shoot them effectively and I can out shoot most anyone with any of those cameras... I went with Pentax because they do not change the lens mounts like the others do. Also the K20D is weather sealed to get a weather sealed in the others, last I knew, you were up there in price. I downloaded the 1.7v update for my K3.3 the other day. The update includes a new AF focus point called XS, for Extra Small. Basically, it's Spot focus shrunk even more. Went out yesterday, and shot some test pics using XS, The camera was set in AF.S and I was using my 55-300PLM/1.4x AW combination. I am new to Pentax so don’t know what is happening. I have a MZ-50 that I think has something wrong with the mirror gears. It was working perfectly until my son dropped it and now the mirror only goes back down half way. Not sure if this is worth fixing. Next up is a MZ-60. I just received it and it was working great.
