The German team ends this year’s European Weightlifting Championships with a medal. Matthäus Hofmann had finished third in the weight category up to 102 kg with 172 kg in the snatch and had thus secured the bronze medal. Three valid attempts and eleventh place in the weight category up to 81 kg were the results for the German athlete Nina Schroth on day seven of the European Championships. The 31-year-old could only score her first attempt in the snatch (98/101x/102x) and then lifted 116 kg in her third lift in the second Olympic discipline (113/116x/116). Over the past two days, the participants of the 17th Women Grand Prix were able to gain experience on the international competition stage and compete with lifters from over 18 nations. Among others, the two Weightlifting Shop athletes Lena Tomkowiak and Scheila Meister made the journey to Luxembourg.
