I was mowing with my RZT L and hit a stump. The engine stopped immediately. When I started it I could tell something was wrong. Checked the plugs and the left side has no power. It runs and will cut grass, but not very fast on one cylinder. Could it have busted rings? Could I spray something in that spark plug hole to make it work??? Can someone help me with this. Mower is in perfect condition except now for the engine. May sell for parts if I can't find out what's wrong with it... Engine Problem FR691V 23 h.p. Kawasaki ..read more

2018 RZT S 54 rear bagger

I purchased a 2018 RZT S 54 used and I would like to buy a rear bagger for it. Preferably a 3 bag system, but 2 would work as well. I contacted the dealer and they said that Cub Cadet does not sell them anymore for that year/model. This model has the fabricated deck. My question is, does anyone know if a bagger system from a different model/year will fit this mower? It would have to be a fairly current model as the dealer told me she can't even get one for a 2020 model. Thanks for your help ..read more

Engine Swap

Swapping a Briggs in to replace my blown Kohler Courage 18. First hurdle is exhaust. This is in a Cub Cadet XT1. The kohler muffler is mounted under a crossmember ahead of the front axle with an open hole on the side where the exhaust comes out of the engine. The Briggs has the pipe come out of the head and curve around and welded to the muffler opposite side of engine. In order to use the existing exhaust on the Brigggs I'd have to cut out the front cross member/bracket, which I'd rather... Engine Swap ..read more

Hi All, I am working on a Cub Cadet Model# 53TIEFJU050 PRO Z 160 S It is the steering wheel model as seen in the photo. It was having a terrible loud noise when releasing the parking brake. After troubleshooting I could see the belt was flopping around violently. I searched this online and all posts said to replace the Belt, Idler Pulley and Idler Pulley Spring. I replaced all of those and while the noise and flopping belt was better it was not completely gone. There is an adjustment nut... I keep it on a battery maintainer and it’s showing 12.27 volts, but when I push the start button I only hear a very slight humming sound. The lights come on. I’ve worked the blade engage lever back and forth. The pedal is pushed in to the max and there’s weight on the seat. It started fine the last time we used it. What am I missing?
