No seat time.

When I retired two years ago I thought I would get more seat time mowing grass. Wife has been mowing the last two years. Says I can use one of the other 3 cubs. The 122 is down for a teaser spring replacement. The 1450 is waiting on a tiller belt. Only thing left is the 70 with the loader. I did score on a set of rims for $50 and a pair of Deestone 23x8.50x12 bar tires for $60. So maybe I should quit my whining ..read more

Stored, covered, outside over the winter. Mild climate in Western Washington, rarely below freezing. Would not crank and battery would not take a charge so bought a new battery. Fixed the cranking issue but won't turn over. Removed the plug and found it was bent at the top. Replaced the plug and still nothing. Removed the plug after 30 or so seconds of cranking and found it dry. Removed fuel line, cranked again and no fuel comes out of fuel line. Blew compressed air into fuel line, gas... Hi, Newbe here. I just acquired a cub 1250 with hydrostatic trans and rear. I have the engine running but shifting the lever in forward or reverse nothing moves. The drive shaft from the engine turns and is turning the transmission shaft but machine does not move at all. Is there a bypass lever that needs to move? I think this machine was made 1975? Please any help is appreciated. Sadly I am just beginning to learn about the old Cubs, but am determined to learn. Thanks ..read more

Hi all I have a 124 that I've been trying to get sound. I have gotten everything running good but now I can't get tractor to shift to third gear. I've pulled cover and original couldn't get second or third to shift. I pried the gear to free it up and got it to go into second gear. Everything looks fine I don't see any burrs or anything that would prevent third from shifting but it still won't budge forward and if I shift second out too hard it really sticks. Any ideas in wondering if main... Read more ..read more

1811 refurbish
IH Cub Cadet Tractor Forum

I was looking for a tractor for my son that would be compatible with the implements I have for my 782. Found this 1811 that ran decent and brought it home. Previous owner had some real sketchy repairs. Not a single cotter pin or hairpin clip on the mower deck and mule drive. All bailing wire or nails! Biggest discovery was one correct taper seat spark plug and one compression washer plug on the other cylinder! Rebuilt the carburetor and lots of pressure washing and a little buffing and... A phone message from a stranger started it all.A skeptic I am with todays electronics....The offer was for an old Allis mower and normally I stay away from things I'm not familiar with to a point...Much discussion about how he got my name turned to the good side. The catch was he was leaving first thing in the morn.Wouldn't be back for a yr..So intrigued I said I'll be there asap. Much to my shock I was looking at an old Allis <built by Simplicity>,which I'm very familiar with...Ended up... Read more ..read more

I have been working on taking apart and stripping the paint off my Cub Cadet 72. I have a couple questions for people who are more experienced than me. 1. What brand of paint should I use to repaint it. 2. Mylar of Vinal Decals. 3. Taking apart the clutch/brake assembly. There is the large spring held in by roll pins. what is the best way to get it off? Any advice is appreciated. It is my firs time doing this, so any tip or tricks are wanted ..read more
