Hey errybody.
I am trying to replace the stereo in my 2003 Access Cab Tundra. I bought a Pioneer stereo, not sure the exact model but I can check if needed, and I absolutely can not figure out how to bypass the factory amp and power the stereo.
I've spliced the wires from the new stereo to a harness that fits into the harnesses coming from the bottom of the amp, but the stereo is not turning on. I've consulted my BIL who used to work on cars for a living and he's also at a loss.
I am very...

Anyone else having an issue with the round radio knob breaking and coming off? Once you can see behind the button, you see there are 4 plastic detents that hold the metal control arm. The first one broke around 15k miles and the warranty replacement knob broke 3 days ago, around 36k. I assume it would be continuation covered under warranty, but even if I have to pay for a replacement, not a big deal.
Has anyone seen a case where these knobs are breaking off. I'm not aggressively pushing...

I recently upgraded from my Tacoma to a new Tundra, generally speaking, I love the truck so far. About a week or two after owning it, I noticed some gray spots on the 14 " (JBL/Platinum model) touchscreen and tried to clean them off. After they wouldnt come off, I looked at a few different angles it appeared that the spots were between the color and the backlighting of the screen, mainly noticeable on lighter screens when like nav in daylight mode or the radio. I had my dealership take a...

I recently traded in my 2021 Tacoma and removed most of the stereo system I had installed in it. One of the things I had bought to install my system was a PAC LPHTY02 T harness. I have the large touch screen 9 speaker system, non JBL. I am curious to know if anyone else has installed aftermarket amps using a T harness, if so what did you use? Crutchfield as well as a multitude of GOOGLE searches have yielded no results. I really don't want to spend up to $100 for something I already have....

Going back to stock-ish and put the factory head unit back in. Somehow the power / volume button is broken. The head unit just keeps resetting on a loop.
The button feels 'dead', almost as if the spring return is broken. I tried some lube and working it, but it doesn't seem to want to function normally.
Any ideas on a fix ..read more

My last vacation, towing my camper, I discovered my Tundra's maps didn't have some newer routes. According to my manual, I can order a new mapping chip from Toyota, which kinda irritates me! They charge big bucks for their trucks and they won't even give you free updates??
Anyway, does anyone know of a third-party outfit, or, better yet, some handy hint that will give me the upgraded maps for free ..read more

Brother in-law bought a new Tundra and I fell in love with the big screen...so I put one in my 2017 5.7 Crewmax!
Ordered it online from Phoenix Automotive. Not too pricey for a big screen. I've seen them at $1000+, but this was only about $600. Shipping took FOREVER due to part shortage though. Almost canceled my order but I'm definitely glad I didn't! Check out the pics!
