I recently acquired this cool little micro autogyro from a friend who was downsizing his collection. It is based on an uM Ember, with the wing cut way down and twin four bladed Depron rotors added, much like a Twirl. I think the motor had been upgraded. Before flying it, I searched around on RCG for something similar. No luck. There was one Ember autogyro that used the full wing with two tiny rotors, which I would not consider an actual autogyro. Some ago I was bored & drew this autogyro model idea... it supposed to look cool, simple & something I could make out of stuff I have - like a tiny motor & 3.5V small LiPo battery. I don't have any RC equipment except one from small toy car which can operate within some 3m radius, so that won't do. The idea was to have a small free-flight model which could be launched in a field, fly in circle for a couple of mins & land on autorotation. For those not familiar with the original Gyroo, it was designed several years ago and subsequently published as a free plan in May 2022 edition of RCM&E. The idea was to produce a simple rugged tractor autogyro with all the main 'breakable' components easily replaced 'at the field'. It's worked out well for those wanting to try an autogyro for the first time. In the same way perfect for the more hardened 'nuts' to have a crack at autogyro aerobatics.
