RPGs - Double build

After the success so far with my first autogyro- RCME Panther, I was advised the next logical step was a pusher and no better model to learn the black art craft than Rich's RPG. This thread is intended not to be a 'how too' more a documented account of my build as it progresses. I will build 2 at the same time... It doesn't take twice as long. Hopefully others will find it informative and maybe provoke discussion ..read more

I've just this afternoon received the above mentioned short kit from Sarik.  It contains three plan sheets, the vac-formed canopy and a laser-cut wood pack.  Should there not be an additional wood pack of strip wood etc? I've contacted Sarik, but no response yet.   ..read more

Gyroo II 'the pusher version'

My ongoing Nellie build needs a few things testing before it progresses any further.  To do this I decided to pause it and scribble up Gyroo II as a kind of adjustable test bed. This will be a pusher version of the  Gyroo utilising the same blades, servos tail parts etc In the same way as the tractor version the main components will be easily replaceable. I still have wood left over from Gyroo so I dont have to put my hand in my pocket again for build materials. The drawings are virtually complete and  I have tried to keep it as Gyrooish as possible.  Templates ha ..read more

Not a build log, more of an experiment to try and get a model to fly built by someone else that has been passed on to me. I have been playing with this for a week now and it is certainly different and quite a challenge. The more I play with it the more the fascination grows for building a more scale like version on a bigger scale. It is a model of an autogyro developed in the early 60's, heres a bit of info on who manufactured it : Avian Aircraft Ltd. was founded in 1959 by Peter Payne, together with a small group of fellow designers and engineers, who had left Avro Canada once the contract fo ..read more

This is my diary with the the Durafly AUTO-G2 from start to ...... whenever... So, let's start by seeing what's in the box...... I did this video with mind on an audience who maybe totally new and not familiar with RC autogyros and maybe wanting to see what these things look like and what goodies they come with. This maybe boring to some, so I am doing another video that will kicks things into gear. Just need a good day to go fly it and mess with it to see where this model takes me. I do like the pre-rotator feature, but being accustomed to my own designs without one, I hope I don't get too sp ..read more

WA-116 Little Nellie

Ever since I have been messing around with autogyros I've wanted to design a workable WA-116 'Little Nellie' that could be published and constructed by anyone with building experience, with the blessing of Ken Wallis, I have sat on it for 14 years for several reasons. The obvious is that the WA-116 is not a beginners model (probably a second pusher type model) , yet, like a spitfire it is the one that the majority want to build and fly first and we all know what can happen there. With a couple of tractors and pushers now published those that have dipped their toes into the ..read more

Hello chaps. It's me again with another silly question. I've recently purchased a Spektrum DX8G2 to use with the scratch-build auto-gyro, which is on the work bench. My question is.... which set-up do I use for an auto-gyro? Any help will be appreciated. Happy landings, Roy ..read more
