Newport Centre is getting a new tenant. Signage is up for Dick’s Sporting Goods, which is opening in the second floor of the mall near the H&M. The store offers a wide range of sports equipment, apparel, and gear. The announcement was made this week via the Newport Centre Instagram account. One of Jersey City’s oldest eateries is expanding. Buon Appetito, currently operating at 520 Jersey Avenue, is moving into 280 First Street. The space was previously the home of Just Beclaws, which abruptly closed back in December. Buon Appetito offers a mix of pizzas, subs, and pastas. Back in 2020, they briefly expanded with Rig a Tony’s, an Italian deli and pizzeria.
