Female powerlifter faces 2-year suspension from the Canadian Powerlifting Union 'BREAKING: I now face a 2-year ban by the CPU for speaking publicly about the unfairness of biological males being allowed to taunt female competitors & loot their winnings,' said April Hutchison. www.rebelnews.com This kind of thing frustrates me, men taking over women’s sports should be illegal. We shouldn’t even have to have this discussion. I’m all for a completely separate category for Trans athletes, but anyone male who has gone through their transition post puberty has a definite advantage in wome ..read more

What belt are you guys using? I want to switch to a lever belt from prongs. Inzer is available in Canada, but I hate their sizing, it’s a scam. Each size is only 4 inches in variance, so they want you to outgrow it and buy another one as your body changes. Iron Bull on Amazon looks decent for the price ..read more

So I found my 1 rep max and started a program. For some reason my back gave out doing 5x5 at 80% of my 1rm. No problems with Squats and bench. I’m thinking of just going light on the deads and doing some goodmornings and reverse hypers 4 times a week to bring up my lower back like west side recommends ..read more

i was introduced to box squats through westside. yay or nay? personally hate them. didnt improve my lifts and i think its dangerous. i think the point is to strengthen the bottom of the lift by training without the advantage of the muscles being under full tension. makes theoretical sense but it seemed like i was unloading the weight on my spine even though i was intentially trying not to. i even switched to putting the bar on the pins low enough to start the lift in the bottom of the... What exercise other than the Squat helped your Squat Max the most?

My lower back always use to be my achilles heel. Before I started into powerlifting I use to have my back go out every 3 months or so and it would take 1 - 3 weeks to get it feeling good again. Even the chiropractor could not work the impingement out all that well. Once I started powerlifting I tried a number of exercises to strengthen the lower back and the posterior chain and the one I found helped the most and increased my squat significantly was bent leg good mornings with a straight...
