My team captures engagements and weddings so that I don’t have to travel back and forth to Virginia from Hawaii constantly. Have I mentioned I love engagement and couples’ sessions?! Oh my goodness, this session was seriously an absolute DREAM. Ashley and Alex are from Florida and traveled to Oahu for their wedding! When I first moved to Oahu I was running a giveaway on my website where engaged couples had the chance to win a free engagement shoot! This engagement session was so much fun for me because this was a new location I hadn’t shot at before. It’s always a dream when couples come to me and trust my opinion about locations. Guys, this shoot is one of my absolute favorites of ALL TIME! We showed up to this gorgeous location at the perfect time on the perfect day. The sun was streaming through the mountains and making everything look like an actual green screen. I love this location all the time but especially when it’s sunny, which can be a little less common since it’s on the east side of the island which is a bit rainier. When I first moved to Hawaii and was building my portfolio, I was shooting a lot of families to start out. It wasn’t really my first choice of what I wanted to shoot but because there are so many people traveling to Oahu, family shoots are HUGE! I get more family inquiries here in a few months span than I did in a whole year back in Virginia. I had the privilege of photographing Melissa and Alex’s Charlottesville engagement session not too long before I moved! This engagement session was one of my favorites of the year for so many reasons!!! I have known of Tori for a very long time because her mom actually taught my brother in elementary school!!
