We were so fortunate with Michelle and Spencer’s engagement session at Cox Arboretum- it was late in the fall season, however we were able to find several spots that gave beautiful fall colors. Where to start the story of how we ended up with Hailey and Aaron as our clients? Well, it all started back in 2016 when we photographed Bethany and Michael’s wedding and we met Michael’s sister, Amy. Taylor and Andrew decided to have their engagement session at the place that meant so much to them and their relationship. And the University of Dayton always serves as a lovely backdrop for spring photos. Ally and Travis had some beautiful fall colors for their engagement session in Devou Park in Covington. We started by the Behringer-Crawford Museum (after hours). The museum served as a nice backdrop with its cool green doors and brick patio. There are also lovely paths through the trees. The next spot we visited was the place where Travis proposed to Ally! It was so sweet to bring them back to that time and place. We then headed to the top of the hill to the lookout near Drees Pavillion. If you guys know anything about Jessica and me, you should know that we LOVE Star Wars. So, when Sarah and Rob asked if we could take photos of them with light sabers and smoke bombs, we instantly said yes. You may remember Sarah and Corey from their engagement session we did at Miami University. Well, since their plans changed due to the pandemic they decided to do another session. And this session was pretty different from the first. We met them at Rhinegeist brewery taproom in downtown Cincinnati. They each shared a drink as we photographed them in the taproom then headed to the rooftop. As I mentioned in a recent post, Jessica and I LOVE to travel for photo sessions. And we were so excited to go to Rapid City, SD for Jennifer and Tony’s engagement session. I mean, come on, there were dogs in the woods and a crazy ride up a trail in the mountains, what’s not to love?! We started the session at Jennifer and Tony’s home out in the woods and met their three dogs. We took them just into the backyard for several photos. Have you ever had a cow in your photo shoot? Well, for Kenzie and Matt’s session we not only had a couple of longhorn cows, but we had the most precocious calf who refused to stay inside the fence. We loved getting to know Kenzie and Matt as we roamed around the farm owned by Matt’s uncle. I was so excited when they said their first dance song would be by my favorite band (one not known by many people)- Johnnyswim. Kelsey and Michael somehow chose the perfect fall day for their engagement photos. Living in Ohio we never really know what kind of days we will get in the fall. We didn’t get a sunset though. However with a little ingenuity we made our own! Be sure to scroll through the photos to see how it turned out.
