Hello AW :-) I’ve been on Xeljanz for 13 months now (5mg x 2 daily) and have had huge success with it, went from totalis to full regrowth! But sadly 3 weeks ago I discovered a large patch the size of a 50c coin (I’m Australian lol) that tripled in size in the space of a week. I am a boy who will soon turn 29 and have always had short hair, but until last year I went to the hairdresser several times a year, about once a month or once every two months. Now I haven't been to the hairdresser since last December and I'm trying to save for long hair. I want hair that goes down a little longer than the ears. I’ve had some type of alopecia for at least 30 years.  I have heard so many comments from people. There is one that I just can’t wrap my head around , people telling me how lucky I am to have alopecia and not cancer. It somewhat makes me feel guilty, but why do they think I’m lucky. There are many people that overcome their cancer And live a long, happy, healthy life that includes growing back a full head of hair. I guess it’s the threat of death that they’re referring to. I read an article in the New York Times about using low dose oral minoxidil for hair loss. Asked my dermatologist about it and after a couple blood tests he prescribed it for me.  I've been on it since September and see results.  Lots of new little hairs and the old hairs seem to be thicker.  It is relatively inexpensive and my insurance covers it.   Dose is 1/40th of what is prescribed for blood pressure ..read more
