Havent done this for a while. The last time I did a personal networth check was when i first started this IG account 1.5 years ago. I thought it's good to put in a post and see where we are after a year.
This is personal networth. The number shown for house and car is 50% of current market value. Both are fully paid and shared with the spouse.

ok, I read alittle more on CPF Cash Top Up. I decided this doesnt really fully work for me if I want to use it to reduce tax payable. In a good way, I am happy to be in this situation.
1. Maximum Annual Total CPF Contribution Limit is $37,740.
Ordinary wage ceiling is now $6,800. Which means annual mandatory contribution is 37%*$6,800*12=$30,192
2. Additional Wage Ceiling = $102,000
Deducting away the annual OW (12*$6,800), it will be $20,400. I would like to think my bonus this year would be at least $25,000. So what this means is $20,400 of my bonus will be subjected to CPF con ..read more

Happy New Year everyone! Dec expenses comes in at $8,436. Biggest difference here is kids' school fee is now $2,700 per month ( For 2 pax) instead of $900 previously.
We moved them from government supported pre-school to a private one. Thus, going forward, the average monthly spending for me should be around 7-8k per month ..read more

Let's just call it the "Influencer" brand because their advertisement is everywhere on social media. So I wanted to buy 2 x air purifiers. Was thinking to support local brand.
Before I placed my order, I decided to check online, specifically Taobao. I dont mind paying 10-20 percent more if the manual is in english, the power plug changed to suit our 3 point sockets.
Lo and behold, Taobao is selling the same purifier.
It is going for 126 dollars with 3 filters and air freight. If we choose the sea freight option, it's 110 dollars.
Whereas if I buy the local re labelled brand. We w ..read more

I have always loved Christmas though I don't really celebrate it. Perhaps it's just the much cooler weather.
Year 2023 is a special year for me. If Year 2022 was a year of self discovery, 2023 is a year of reflection. Allow me to recap a little. Back in 2022, I decided that I had enough of being a worker bee and tried out the FIRE lifestyle. Got myself a realtor license because I have always been interested in properties and embarked on my realtor journey. Turns out I joined the industry at the worst time ever. ?.
In 2023, I got back to the corporate world, getting a job that aligne ..read more

Throwback to October.
Monthly spending is hovering around 5-6k per month. Not bad at all considering that I replaced my parent's TV in Oct as well. That cost me 800 bucks.
Hope everyone is doing great ..read more

As expected, nothing positive and nothing spectacular. The presentation seems to be copy and paste from the previous report. Not sure what the management is trying to prove here. Are they trying to tell investors that they are doing all they can by actions that will be translated to results and dont need to have flowery reporting to win investors over? Or are they sitting on their asses? I hope it is the formal.
Issues surrounding the REIT.
1. High interest environment
2. Reluctance of workers to go back to office
3. Loan due mid 2024.
4. Valuation risk end of the year, aka Manul ..read more
