In 2017 Michael McCool from Hill Air Force Base in Utah joined my AbelCine class in Burbank. He had lots of production experience but wanted to see how Resolve could help their post team be more efficient. He loved my sessions and expressed an interest in me running a 5 day workshop for the whole production team at HAFB. Jump to 2023 and we finally made it happen. HAFB is situated just north of Salt Lake City. On July 20, Blackmagic Design and IntekTV hosted South America’s first ever Colorist Mixer at Country Club Lima in Peru. Held in conjunction with Blackmagic Week, the event drew an enthusiastic crowd of approximately 60 people from across Latin American, including more than 20 colorists. It was also streamed with the help of the Davinci Resolve Latino community. Back in the Classroom, Burbank 2023 I have just returned from Abelcine in Burbank, California having run classroom training for the first time in 3.5 years! This time we switched things up a little with students joining the workshop via ZOOM alongside those in the classroom.   I had a dedicated camera and a Lav mic so I could walk around the classroom addressing questions from the floor.
