My wife and I recently disagreed about an e-bike, she thought the e-bike was ugly, but I insisted on its unassuming exterior design. She thinks I've degenerated to the point of having no aesthetics! So, what do you think?   13.jpg (Size: 49.73 KB / Downloads: 26 ..read more

Hey y’all! I found this frame abandoned outside my apartment and have taken it in. It has. A custom paint job and no info about the manufacture or tubing. Hoping someone recognizes it and can give me some info about it. It has an rst suspension coil and the only deck is on the rear triangle ´championship geometry’. Cheers!   CAEF10FB-CB03-45C5-AB38-0AAC00CE50AB.jpeg (Size: 80.19 KB / Downloads: 3 ..read more

Hardtail as only bike?

I have been thinking of getting back into mountain biking after a 6 year break. I don't have the money for multiple bikes, so I've been enjoying road cycling on my 2013 Giant TCR. I have an opportunity to trade straight up for a 2013 Trek Stache 8 29er. How would this bike do for commuting and road riding? Maybe have a slick set of tires to swap when not trail riding? Anybody else use a mountain bike for everything ..read more

Chain not sitting correctly on sprocket

Hi all, New member here . I just bough a new bike and yesterday was my first ride. I noticed a sound when in my 3th or 4th gear (3rd and 4th largest sprocket) . Today I tried to determine the noise and it seems to be because the chain does not seem to fit perfectly on sprockets (if inspected, you can see small gap between chain and sprocket, causing a "click" when pedalling). I checked the usual suspects, like high and low limit screws and also B-tension, but that seems to be OK and in other gears I can barely hear the noise. The chain is Shimano cn m7100 SLX (12-speed), cassete is also fro ..read more

Wanted to starts thread of cool but little known bike spots. You know those awesome spots you just find by talking to some dude at a bar or make friends with a bike shop employee and they show it to you, etc. I’ll start with a few I know 1. The baldy downhill trails In Breckinridge CO you can take the free bus up baldy to the top with your bike and ride down some pretty awesome downhill trails. The top half isn’t kept up very well but has some pretty fun ladder drops, hips, etc. then he bottom half pretty well maintained and has a jump line with nice berms etc. as well as a green kind of run ..read more

Specialized Hardrock Mtb

I am out of my league, but trying to functionally restore, and customize to my needs an early 90s (?, serial # and date codes not yet checked) Specialized Hard Rock rigid frame mtb while spending the bare minimum to do so (<$50; wrap/grips, tubes, cables/housings, etc.). Bike was donated for refurbishment by a friend whose older brother passed, and had 4 bikes to move out: a cheapo wallyworld fake mtb, a newer style Schwinn alloy frame Varsity, early 80s Panasonic sport racer, and the Hard Rock mtb which by far looked the worse, but was the best bike by far in quality. Not sure of its value ..read more

Does anyone happen to know the offset on the cabin ring (none, 3mm, or 6mm) on a 2019 trek fuel ex-7. It has sram sync 2 32t Dub in the chain ring but I can't find the offset anywhere. Would this mean no off set? Thanks in advance ..read more

So I’ve made a dumb decision and drove my grip shift 18 speed mountain bike in water that was over my handlebars and am now deeply regretting it. After going through the water the bike still worked perfect. It wasn’t until about 2 days later when i went to go ride it and noticed that it was stuck in gear 5. So i tried to do some research but couldn’t figure it out. I really need to fix the problem, Any explanations, help, and solutions would be greatly appreciated ..read more
