In March 2022, the World Health Organization released an updated comprehensive guideline, 'WHO recommendations on maternal and newborn care for a positive postnatal experience'. The guideline focuses on the weeks shortly after birth, making 63 recommendations on maternal care, newborn care, health systems and health promotion during the postnatal period. A new Cochrane Incontinence review has been published! ‘Prophylactic antibiotics for preventing infection after continence surgery in women with stress urinary incontinence’ has been authored by Teerayut Temtanakitpaisan, Pranom Buppasiri, Pisake Lumbiganon, Malinee Laopaiboon and Siwanon Rattanakanokchai. In August 2021, the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) announced its intention to withdraw the infrastructure funding that it provides to all UK Cochrane Review Groups, including Cochrane Incontinence. Our funding will cease on 31st March 2023, after which there will be no editorial base to support Cochrane Reviews to publication.
