My brother is looking for a smartwatch I have an iwatch and would recommend he hets one of this in a heartbeat but he doesn’t have an I phone (he has a Samsung S24 ultra)so one of those isn’t really an option the way I see it is he has 3 options:
The Garmin
The Samsung Gear watch
The Google watch He really doesn’t know what to go for although he’s leaning towards the Garmin one major function he wants it that ability to make phone calls. Can you guys recommend which one to get or are there any brands I should check out?

With stuff like the galaxy, pixel, or Apple watches you're expecting around a day or a day and a half battery life, yet with Garmin and amazfit watches theyre advertised to last around 2 weeks on a charge, what's with this major gap in battery life? You don't see this with phones

TLDR: idk exactly what I want in a smart watch but I'd take a pixel watch if I could Gadgetbridge or flash an OS and stop it from phoning home and just call it a day but I can't so looking at other options what do I look at?
I have a pixel with GrapheneOS so I can't just be told or think buy an Apple watch or Samsung watch if I have a Samsung and Google pixel watch otherwise. I would love to be able to just buy a Pixel watch though and Gadgetbridge it to provent all the phoning home or flash an OS to it, though I think it supports that not that its as easy as a pixel phone or that anyone has ..read more

Why can smartwatches not connect to tablets I have a tabS9 ultra that has a sim port and can get a plan on it. Still the galaxy watch can not connect. The cellular argument doesn't hold up just like the wear os can not connect to tablets. Because I can connect a pixel watch 2 to a tablet a garmin and a galaxy fit. So why can't the galaxy watch be connected to tablets

I am a healthcare provider in a small solo clinic. I am changing my phones to a voip service that will ring to my cell phone. I am looking for a smart watch to wear while I'm working to see who is calling and decide if I want to pick it up at that moment or let it go to voicemail. I need to be able to disable notifications for apps like Facebook because I don't want the distractions while I'm working. I will likely only wear this when working. Calander notifications would be a nice bonus.

This will be a huge upgrade for the watches that can support it. You'll be able to listen to music/audio from the watch without killing the battery and have nicer sound. A big advantage for the ecosystem. Google hasn't said anything, neither has Samsung

Hi! I'm looking to get a smartwatch that could be interesting for the gym and school. I bought a Garmin VivoSmart HR a couple of years ago; now has come the time to replace it. I feel like it never gave me accurate heart reading (it was picking up heartbeats when I wasn't wearing it). Also, I was not too fond of the Garmin app. It was too complicated to use, and I got disconnected from my iPhone.
Here are some requests : - I have an iPhone XR. So, iOS connectivity is a must. - I like to know my heart rate when I go to the gym and throughout the day. Having something to lower stress might also ..read more
