We spent most of November in Costa Rica. All 5 of us and for 2 weeks we were with our traveling friends also a family of 5. Our 3rd day the AirBnB was hit. Home Invasion with my kids and their kids used as leverage to get what they wanted. Outside of death, kidnapping, and assault this is as bad as it gets for a dad. Rhyan (my wife) recently wrote her first and only blog about this experience. You can read it here.  https://medium.com/@Rhyan_12369/surviving-a-home-invasion-in-costa-rica-and-how-airbnb-is-doing-nothing-to-make-it-safer- I had this blog written out and was going to post ne ..read more

Well I finally did it. Officially a published author! This book is as much a useful tool for dads as well as a tribute to what put 100% Dad on the map. Our Instagram page @100dad grew from 0 to well over 40,000 followers in large part due to our memes. The last year or with Instagram change to pushing Reels has made the memes a bit of a relic on that platform. I handpicked my favorite memes from a selection of over 1000. Narrowed it down to 206 full color pages that includes the original caption and some comments! Buy a copy for Dad! Buy a copy for yourself! It’s a book that is meant to be at ..read more

Small Business owners, Corporate Execs, Managers, white-collar & blue-collar do’ers. Dads have many places in the business world. More than likely, you have had a variety of positions throughout the years. My journey was just that. Not including my years breaking child labor laws forced to do chores…..I started and shut down many lawn mowing operations in middle-high school. (we were always moving) Eventually, I tired of building something only to be told, “Hey we’re leaving next week go tell your customers.” In high school, I spent time in the landscaping business on weekends, a parking ..read more

A budget is telling your money where it is going to go, it is not a record of what happened. A record of what happened is called an e ..read more

Dads that feel they have Failed This is a real issue across the world. Men carry a huge burden on their shoulders. They often feel like they could have done better or that they came up short in being a father. So let’s address that. 1.) Failure is normal. Everyone fails. It’s part of life. Trial and error. Is being a hard-ass dad wrong?

Is being a hard-ass dad wrong? Being only a hard-ass dad is not the answer. We’ve seen that story. Hard-ass overbearing dads drive their kids away and tear them apart. There is no real strong relationship. The “my way or the highway“ approach 100% of the time, is a failed strategy. It creates lifelong resentment and disrespect. It weakens kids’ confidence in themselves. It discourages independent thought and action. It’s a good thing I’m 100% okay with dads being a hard ass. Just not ALL the time. Dad needs to have a soft side. It’s imperative. Hard-ass dads need to demonstrat ..read more

Tons of media coverage of this lately. Frankly Parents have too much faith in the school systems. Those school systems are not that great. They really are not. If you got a public or private school route, then you can not close your eyes and trust everything is fine. It is a critical tactical move to stay involved in your kid’s life.
