Following a fun and busy season we got Bryn sorted with a Pet Passport and headed to France for a week of well-deserved rest and relaxation! He was so good on the long journey, and most intrigued by the huge Eurotunnel train as it was nothing at all like the steam train he went on in October! In November we were delighted to be shortlisted by Go North Wales Tourism for the best B&B / Inn of the Year award. Though we didn’t win we were chuffed to be recognised and had a great evening! A few weeks later we also received our updated rating of 9.9 from booking.com - that our guests mark us ..read more

After a busy but rewarding season with lots of fantastic guests to our B&B, we enjoyed a well deserved holiday in America. We started off with a family wedding near Boston, then took a road trip south through 11 states, ending with a few days’ fun at DisneyWorld! In December we met our new best friend for the first time - our golden retriever Bryn. Here he is when we chose him, the day we brought him home from mid Wales, and several weeks later thoroughly enjoying his first trip to the beach. He is already such a huge and fun part of our lives - we really can’t imagine life without him! A ..read more

North Wales is one of the most popular walking destinations in the UK! The Pathfinder Guides series of books gives detailed instructions for these walks, and Ordnance Surv ..read more

We continued to undertake work on the house into December with lockdowns and uncertainty preventing us from hosting guests in our bed and breakfast. A lack of carpets was also a factor (!), but this meant we could repaint all the woodwork in the house, so every skirting board, door surround and staircase got a coat of paint. The remaining squeaky floorboards got repaired and we were finally ready for our new carpets… due three days before Christmas! In the meantime we put our decorations up. Our village - Trefriw - was this year doing an advent window trail which we decided to participate in ..read more

November started with Wales still being in a ‘firebreak’ lockdown, so unfortunately our B&B remained closed. That meant more long walks around Trefriw with Bryn though, enjoying the stunning autumnal colours - the trees were really putting on a show this year. Compulsory sausage roll picnics by the lake were had... The conditions also meant a rainbow was almost a daily occurrence! As the restrictions ended businesses reopened and we were free to travel a bit further again. This meant one thing: back to cafes! Ffika in Llanrwst reopened so that was a first stop - we love their beautifu ..read more
