Patchanika Makaew was born and raised in Thailand. In 2014, her job in finance brought her to New York City where she noticed many locals in the area exercised as a part of their daily routine. Previously only exercising at a gym once a year in Thailand, she set out to try various fitness classes in New York City and eventually discovered barre3. In 2012, Morgan Brown discovered barre3 Newtown in Pennsylvania. Having never truly connected with a fitness program before, she fell in love with the warm, welcoming vibe of the studio, staff, and community. She became certified instructor in 2015 and taught at barre3 DC, barre3 DC – 14th Street, and most recently at barre3 Rosemont.
