Hi everyone. I have JCB 8018 Mini Excavator, year 2008 with 2000 hours. Just recently I have been experiencing loss of power in the rhs track/final drive.
It runs fine when first started but then starts to lose power after about 25mins of operation. The lhs track remain good regardless of how long the machine has been used.
Can anyone help out on how to diagnose what fault is causing this to happen? Regards Paul ..read more

Hi, PlantTalk
Have just gotten off the phone to a lovely gent who mentioned that our name crops up here from time to time and that it would be a good idea to say hello!
We're based in Plymouth, Devon and have been supplying starters and alternator since the '80s. We've a lot of experience and can generally supply/deliver any 12V (and most 24V) units within 24hrs. Happy to field questions members may have re: starter/alternator issues! If permitted, I'll edit this post to include a link to...

Hi all, relatively new to the game especially running machines. Done labouring for the last 5 or so years and now getting more time on the machines, mini, telehandler, 8 tonner etc.
Any tips for getting better? Other than the obvious "just practice" because the people teaching me, if any, have questionable levels of knowledge: i.e. have not been trained?? No CPCS for example.
Feels like I'm worse than I am I think. I just struggle to have an eye for heights, especially when levelling out...

Just sitting reading the latest edition of earthmovers. Reading the product launch review of the new JCB mini diggers. It’s such a nonsensical review when it comes to reviewing how the digger digs. “I set about digging into the pile, which was an effortless operation for this compact powerhouse.” “In the dig, the zts mini never faltered once, with no noticeable dragging down of the engine power. The machine was nice and smooth to operate and had plenty of poke about it.”
It would fooking...

OK I know there are a few threads on here.
But I've got stuff on a job that would need removing and then new or recycled back in.
We can't get rid of old without paying around here and bringing in recycled around £14 a ton plus vat. Grab lorry around here around £325 for concrete etc I think. So say old away and new in £30 ish a ton plus vat.
Say 3 ton an hour production so around £90 hrs less fuel labour etc.
Is it worth it ..read more
