I was wondering if anyone has ever explored aerial storm chasing and used aerial images to study storms from above.
Showers and thunderstorms are giant waterfalls in the sky when viewed from the air, a lot can be taken away and learned especially when Gibson ridge 3D volumetric images are combined with the aerials, you can find storm height and the gustfront height and just use them as a fun case study tool like we have done below ..read more

Hi there, reaching out as my spotter location isn’t showing on Radarscope any longer. It had been showing since earlier this year, but stopped recently and I’m unsure why.
I confirmed I’m logged in on Radarscope and my location services are turned on. Not sure what the culprit is. My Spotter Network username is Hinklewx. Any suggestions ..read more

I have a question- a friend of mine mentioned that Jan 24 was the first tor-e ever in the history of the Houston office.
I could swear there was a tor-e warning in Ocean County, NJ, but I can't find anything online ..read more

Hello everyone, I am a Landscape photographer from Kansas and i have a question that maybe someone can answer. In landscape photography, one always prefers a good sunset with good color for the scene they are photographing. Typically in my experience, thin high level cirrus/stratus clouds always produce a good sunset with great color. My question is, what kind of weather patterns favor these types of clouds for a given location? For instance, if i am in a certain location, what type of...

I found some footage online from the tornado outbreak of May 13, 1995 recently. Some screen grabs from SD video were taken southeast of Abingdon, IL by a local farmer, Norm Wilcoxen. Sadly he has passed away upon trying to look him up.
I was wondering if anyone else had photos, videos, or experiences related to this outbreak in Illinois? It looks like it was a warm front setup across the area with very high CAPE (3000-4000 J/KG) and high helicity as well. The Storm Prediction Center went...

As of 10p Sunday, it looks like a "moderate" risk (using SPC's terminology) for tornadoes, likely strong, will exist Monday from roughly AEX to ELD to JAN to AEX. The SPC's enhanced risk is fine except the northern boundary should run from SHV to 25 N ELD to join the existing enhanced NE of JAN.
Look at the supercells on the RRFS as of 22Z Monday. The surface low is forecast to be on the AR-LA border WNW of MLU and move east with the warm front moving north. This could be a...

Has anyone run GRLevel3, GR2Analyst, or Baron Mobile Threat Net on Windows on Parallels Desktop on an Apple Silicon Mac? If so, do they run well, or do they have any issues? Can Windows on Parallels Desktop on an Apple Silicon Mac run Windows apps on two different monitors if I had a Mac that supported a multi-monitor setup?

I keep seeing these pop up on HAM Radio Sites:
Tornado Alert TORNADOALERT Early Alert Tornado and Severe Weather Detectors | DX Engineering
Free Shipping - Early Alert Tornado and Severe Weather Detectors with qualifying orders of $99. Shop Weather Station Accessories at DX Engineering.

Has anyone used this, and what would it do that a good, cheap, NOAA Weather Radio or GRLevel3 not already do?
I'm honestly skeptical about it and just curious as if anyone has actually tried one.
Thanks ..read more
