The IEA Conference was held at the Sheraton Hotel in Athlone on 4-5 May 2023. The keynote speakers were Oriana Bandiera (LSE) and Klaus Adams (University of Mannheim). Over 180 people were in attendance, with 75 full papers and 18 flash talks presented over the two days. This year introduced new ‘flash talk’ sessions primarily aimed at PhD students.  The Irish Society for Women in Economics (ISWE) also organized an evening reception on 4 May. The annual IEA-ISWE 5km run took place on 5 May and had ~25 eager runners/walkers. Awards were made for the Connifee, Novartis, ISWE, & ESR priz ..read more

The IEA is delighted to announce the IEA Travel Grant Scheme 2022. The goal of the IEA Travel Grant Scheme is to aid in the dissemination and promotion of economic research by economists working on the island of Ireland. Total funding available per call (2 per year) is capped at €5,000 (all available funds may not be allocated). The maximum funding available per grant under the scheme is €1,000. The Annual IEA Conference took place at the Castletroy Park Hotel in Limerick on 4-5 May 2022. Over 70 papers were presented in 21 sessions over the two days. Keynote speakers Sandra Black (Columbia) and Silvana Tenreyro (LSE and Bank of England) participated remotely.
