Turbo Trainer Triathlon Cycling Dubai…. “Love the Turbo” was the response when I asked my coach, Brett Sutton, how to knock 10 mins off my 70.3 bike split. What do you do during the hot summer, or when the recent weather in Dubai rendered our beautiful cycling track mostly inoperable? The turbo is a practical option, that is if we want to continue to train for any upcoming races. Cycling will no doubt return to normal at some point soon but certain parts of the Al Qudra loop will need rebuilding and others may stay flooded for the foreseeable future. So onto the Turbo. The second edition of the Sharjah triathlon, hosted by Endurance Sports Services rounded off a very enjoyable season of triathlon racing in the UAE.  This was the last chance to gain points in the UAE league or have a hit out before South Africa or Valencia 70.3s. Given the recent warm weather it was not surprising that this was called a non-wetsuit swim. NOT a triathlon camp. This was most definitely NOT a Triathlon camp. However, we did take our swim bike and run kit with us! The ride from the UAE border crossing to Musandam all the way to the town of Khasab  had been on my bucket list of things to do for sometime. So last weekend the Sported coaching team and friends from Mad4Tri and Coach Mike decided to cross the border and cycle all the way along to coast to Khasab.  Having ridden the bikes through the border crossing, it is a spectacular ride with the blue waters of the gulf on one-side and towering rugged ..read more

In Rome, known as the “Eternal City”, I participated in “Run Rome The Marathon 2024”, a challenging yet exhilarating event. The city’s rich history and beauty provided a stunning backdrop for the marathon, with iconic landmarks like the Colosseum and Vatican City lining the route. The marathon presented significant challenges, with its winding paths, cobblestone streets, and steep inclines testing runners’ endurance and mental strength. Despite these obstacles, I tackled the course with determination and perseverance, ultimately achieving a Personal Best time. Moreover, the marathon provided ..read more
