Bump Steer - Explained
Bull Run 4x4 Blog
by Mike M.

If you have ever driven a lifted Jeep one thing you notice is the steering. If special care is not taken in the design the vehicle will dodge and dart whenever a bump or hole in the road is hit. This is because the drag link is either being pushed or pulled by the vertical suspension movement due to not being parallel with the trac-bar. This is commonly referred to as Bump Steer. Lets examine the components of a typical steering set-up. The axle is supported in place by the control arms and a trac-bar on a TJ suspension. Consider the leaf springs to be the control arms in an YJ/CJ. The drag li ..read more

It’s no secret that Amazon has grown to be the largest company in the world for one main reason. They make it easy to shop online and with a click of a mouse, whatever it is that you’re shopping for will arrive at your door within a day or two in a brown, white or blue box truck. Getting your goods to you in a timely manner doesn’t happen automagically, either. It’s a combined effort of nearly 1.1 million Amazon employees world-wide who are employed as software developers, datacenter engineers, logistics/shipping personnel, warehouse workers and more. Coupled with the 1M plus Amazon workforce ..read more

We get asked this question all the time and we continually have to educate our customers on why we will not touch a Rough Country lift kit or install parts by this company. No, we do not have a personal vendetta against Rough Country. They have been around probably longer than any other lift kit manufacturer but they use questionable practices in their Jeep suspension geometry which we'll cover below in a minute. We have also seen numerous quality control issues with their parts such as shocks failing, coil springs sagging and unsafe welds that were not fully welded but somehow made it throug ..read more

MetalCloak Lifts Explained - Why We Exclusively Use Them!
Bull Run 4x4 Blog
by Mike M.

We get asked time to time, why do you only install MetalCloak lift kits? It's actually a pretty simple answer but there is a lot to the answer. The main reason is QUALITY. Quality is sometimes hard to find in the Jeep world since there are so many different brands that you can choose from. #Saturday Rant - Angry Eye Grills, Halo Headlights & Rough Country Lift Kits - NO!
Bull Run 4x4 Blog

Rough Country Lift Kits So let’s start with a brief history lesson about our loyalty to the Seven Slot Grill design and why we think it’s taboo to change it out for something else. It was not until the release of the first widely available civilian Jeep, the 1945 Willys CJ-2A, that the grille was reduced to the prominent seven slot design that it retains today and has become so well-known for. So, why did Willys ..read more
