I thought I posted a thread about this earlier but it seems to be gone, so I will try to be succinct. Basically, my youngest sister 'K' had a falling out several months ago with my BPD daughter (over something that of course seemed very trivial to both me and my sister). K was very close to my 9-YO granddaughter, but now my daughter will not let her see her 'unsupervised'. This has caused K a great deal of pain, but she won't discuss it with me because she doesn't want to put me in the...

I really am going to try hard to summarise here because no one wants to read an absolute essay, but it's kinda hard to do so I'm sorry in advance.
I've been out of therapy for about a year now, and kinda thought I was getting on fine, still the regular anxiety issues but in terms of BPD, kind of only really trigger based situations rather than it being a constant daily battle. But about a month or so ago when my partner of 7 yrs was literally in the process of breaking up with me it was...

[I didn't know whether to post this in the Relationships category or here- sorry!]
Trying to search for tips online always ends up with "how to handle your BPD partner" (some very useful, some questionably ignorant/offensive). Never the other way around.
As someone with BPD, how do you handle your fear of abandonment and emotional permanence problems?
So far I've managed to do my best to take responsibility, set boundaries and encourage my partner to do the same...

It's a constant struggle to keep my emotions from being extreme. I have been triggered. My emotions are extreme. Constantly changing. But I'm tired of trying to stay in control but I feel like I will lose touch with reality if I let go. But I believe it would be a way my mind could use to protect me from the intense pain I'm feeling ..read more

Hi! My name is Nymph and I was diagnosed with BPD at 19 (I’m 21 now) but of course, unbeknownst to me, had BPD since I was a little child. It really became severe though when I was around 11/12. Throughout these couple of years I have done every possible self-sabotaging activity known to man. I was self harming in various ways, pushing people away, overdosing on every drug I came across, attempted suicide 10+ times etc. I have had three FPs in my life and the love that I had for them...

Just curious. I heard many times that BPD (Borderline Personality Disorder) and BD (Bipolar Disorder) can happen at once. A patient can have both disorders. Just like someone can be both bipolar and schizophrenic (called Schizo-Affective disorder).
But is Schizophrenia and BPD can happen at once?? or it's impossible? The symptoms are quite opposite to each other. BPD people have intense emotions and emotional dysregulation, while Schizo patients are described as "dull", without emotions...
