I'm in the process of planning a new PC build and I think I've settled on a case, but I'm not sure if it will support the hardware I'm wanting to put into it. It's the Corsair 4000D (pictured below). Would the case have enough room for a GTX 4090? This is my first PC build so I want to make sure before I spend any money ..read more

Hi! I'm not building this myself, I'm using a custom builder. I'm looking at: AMD RYZEN 7 7700X MSI PRO PRO A620M-E MEMORY DDR5 16GB (2x8GB) 500GB HP EX900 m.2 Solid State Drive, NVME What I'm deciding on is the power supply. I'm not a gamer, but I do want a fast computer. How much power do I need? I think 500w to 600w is more than enough. Which PSUs should I consider? Also, is this motherboard adequate for my needs? I don't thing I need a B650 board---I don't need all the bells and... New Computer Power Supply ..read more

Please bear with me on this as it could be confusing. I have a 2 year (give or take) custom built computer. At the time I had the computer built, I decided to put in a small 500 MB SSD for my C Drive (OS) and an additional 1 TB D Drive for my games downloads etc. Recently; however, anytime I downloaded something selecting the D Drive for the download drive - everything would download to my C Drive which did not have enough room on it. As such, I decided to upgrade my C Drive and get rid... Unexplainable Upgrade Issue ..read more

ARGB Controller giving me lighting problems

Hi, there. Not so long ago I bought a prebuilt PC with b450mk-ii motherboard, the four chasis fans are connected using the ARGB controller MSI (GYPCB-23028-2) model to be precise. The RGB was working fine until about two months ago when I switched the RGB off because they were distracting at the time, but two months later when I try to switch them back up, they won't come on, the fans are running perfectly but their RGB remain off. I even tried holding down the button to maybe reset them but... ARGB Controller giving me lighting problems ..read more

My research shows the AMD AM4 seems to currently have the best value and longevity, but I want to check in here first before my planning gets too advanced. Also at some point I'd like to talk about SSD'S, and whether or not the data on them should be backed up to a standard HD, i.e. can they be trusted long term to not suddenly die without warning causing catastrophic loss of all data. I have limited experience with an internal M2 SSD and very much appreciated the faster boot times, but... Build Proposition, Comments Invited ..read more

What's the Deal with "Aftermarket Keys"?

Planning a build and discussing it on Reddit, and several people suggested that I could download Win10 for free, buy an "aftermarket key" from some place like eBay, and not have to spend $100.00 on a retail copy of Windows. Figured it was legal given that it was being discussed openly, but 2 days later (today) in another subreddit, a thread got shut down by Mods due to an extensive discussion about "greyware", and even though all the posts were deleted, you could read between the lines, and...
