A mate grabbed a PSU from them as part of a full build. Got it and turned it out, jet engine spec fan noise from PSU. Ended up pulling it out and sending it back. Then sent him a replacement unit with the same problem... he was not impressed. Eventually he asked for a different unit and problem was solved. But if they don't check for loud noises during build and test. And they don't check a replacement part works before sending it out... then you have to wonder. Five minute job to check a part. But yeah I guess the staff get paid either way, so not their problem. statistics: Posted by Fragluto ..read more

Nvidia is finally replacing the control panel It's being a long time coming It's called the "Nvidia App", lame name maybe they'll change it later but it's now in Beta and you can download it Some of the control panel's features are missing from the beta app but will be added as the beta progresses and also GPU overclocking and driver roll back features will be added The RTX HDR feature that people have been playing around with is built into the app, one click and you have HDR gaming for al directx games The old control panel will still be available until the beta has finished, one the Nv ..read more

Same performance between those two. Not that it matters since we can't get the 5600X3D. If future games need more cores then that can certainly change. 5700X3D a solid option for AM4. I benchmarked MW3 and GPU is still the big majority of my bottleneck, 6700XT vs 3600. So until my GPU is better no point upgrading. By which point Zen 5 will probably be an appealing option. statistics: Posted by Fragluton — 16 minutes ago ..read more

Honestly for a $200 mobo, I just can't be f'd taking it any further and I guess that's what they're counting on.  I'll use it for one of my kids with a non-G processor.  But now I know how unknowledgeable their RMA staff are for the future.  You have to admit, having multiple people there that don't know what a G processor is, is pretty terrible. statistics: Posted by pyronical — 31 minutes ago ..read more

Could try a different branch. They are all very different. Hamilton (mate of mine works there) is supposedly really good for handling RMA. I had a great experience in the Auckland CBD also. Terrible experience with Albany, **** them. Trying to charge me for testing a defective motherboard I bought a few days earlier. statistics: Posted by AlDrag — 8 minutes ago ..read more

Sehr Gut! wrote: ↑ 6:55 AM - 1 day ago would they go 32" 4k? i ended up getting this one that mutton posted about in the yolo thread - i've only had it about a week and i'm not an expert/hard out monitor person, but seems pretty good so far (it's replacing a similar spec 27" QHD i've had for a few years) Mutton wrote: ↑ 8:40 AM - 15 days ago Got a new monitor, price dropped about $150 since I last looked. Hard to find similar spec at a similar price. I really dig it. Replaced my 34" Titan Army ultra-wide. My kid gets the old one, she's stoked too. https://www.dell.com/en-nz/shop/dell-32 ..read more

^^ when dealing with the uneducated, try to put yourself in their shoes and think how your complaint would have to be worded for them to understand. In this regard as the RMA tech you spoke to doesn't understand what a G processor is or how onboard video works, as Dan said, simply tell them the HDMI port on the back of the motherboard is not working, take a video showing that you have a cable plug into the port and there is no image and send it back with the video. Other options include; ask to speak to their manager and threatening PB with the CGA It's pretty bad though, like how as a busi ..read more
