Korg Forum • Korg T series compatible with M1 patch data?

I've programed a great bank of patches on a Ex M1R. The EX has the extra 4 MBs of samples from the T series. So I wonder if the M1R bank would work on a T series synth by a SysEx bulk dump? If someone has a T synth, I could send the patches to see if they will work. Statistics: Posted by Scott — Sun Feb 18, 2024 10:46 pm ..read more

I was not blown away by anything I saw in this video. And WHY do they always have someone playing jazz in these promo videos? I always ask the same when people are demoing Hammond organs. It is is always cheesy blues or gospel shite or something I am totally not interested in. When I want a Hammond organ demo I want something that blows me out of my shoes and socks, like this iframe Not this iframe Same organ same player. but the latter is a complete turn off for me. So there is no audio over USB? It doesn't seem the manual is available for download yet and from the product page I can't make this info out. Was there one on the original Grandstage? It would be safe to assume then there is one here as well. Statistics: Posted by sonic2000gr — Thu Jan 18, 2024 5:21 pm ..read more

I prefer modern, up to date tech. So I would much rather see USB-C on everything. I have never had a USB-C cable fall out of any device but I would never be going on stage with a keyboard where I guess people would be falling over cables all the time So there is no audio over USB? I don't think that would come into play here. If it's only using USB to send and receive standard MIDI between itself and a host, the additional speed capacity of faster USB would be about as useful as a no-speed-limit autobahn is to someone riding bicycle. That's true. We should consider that after all USB is a 5V high speed serial protocol, it is quite susceptible to noise issues and this is the reason the cable length is limited. You can of course limit the connection speed probably all the way down to USB-1 standards and this would make it more immune - and still enough for MIDI data. Th ..read more

I was talking about USB-C. Ah, I was thinking about rara's comment about USB 3.1/3.2. USB-C supports faster data transfer speeds than USB-B, which can be beneficial for sending and receiving large amounts of MIDI data. I don't think that would come into play here. If it's only using USB to send and receive standard MIDI between itself and a host, the additional speed capacity of faster USB would be about as useful as a no-speed-limit autobahn is to someone riding bicycle.
